    DVD Ripper Subtitled with AVI

    Dear All,

How do I use SRT (prefix - subtitled) downloaded to be used with a movie?

Note :- I wished to ripped the DVD movie and the SRT downloaded sub into a AVI file.

    Thank you

I assume you are trying to get subtitles for a language that is not on the DVD?

AVI files do not support subtitles unless you burn them into the video. DVDFab can create the AVI and burn the subtitles into the video but only subtitles that are already on the DVD.

Some playback programs/devices support external subtitles with an AVI file. Just name the subtitle files the same as the AVI (except the extension).

You could also use a file format that supports selectable subtitles like MKV or DIVX depending on what your playback program/device supports. For example, a program called AVIAddXSub will take an AVI and similarly named subtitle files and create a DIVX file with selectable subtitles.
