DVD Ripper Cannot Convert DVD - Kick A$s

I'm trying to convert the DVD "Kick A$s" (spelling modified) to play on my PVP. When I try, DVDFab (first 7.0.9.3, and when that didn't work, I upgraded to 7.5.0.8) starts to analyze the disk, and then just stops. I tried using an older version (6.2.1.8), and get an "Error While Reading" message. The disk plays just fine on my computer using Windows Media Player. Any ideas on what's wrong?

After you ripped the dvd to your hard drive, does it still play fine?

No ideas with what wrong until you post the most recent info mentioned below to your next post reply to this thread

If you are posting about an operational problem with either the DVD to Mobile or File to Mobile option of DVD Fab, you will improve the speed and accuracy of the response by providing some information in the very first post that will be needed to assist you.

Posts with all the requested information will be answered first.

First, make note of any error codes or messages that appear in popup boxes and put them in your post. Information on error codes that appear in the DVDFab UI are captured in one of the logs we request below.

DVDFab keeps logs of its activities that supply basic system information and can help pinpoint where and when an error happened and help pinpoint the cause. The default location for these logs on most Windows systems is:

      C:\Documents and Settings\your username\My Documents\DVDFab\Log

The logs are simple text files that can be opened with Windows Notepad. If the size exceeds the forum’s attachment size limit, you may need to delete older entries or copy and paste the relevant ones into a new file.

dvdfab_process.log Attach if DVDFab crashes and the crash report window does not come up or complete correctly or if internal error codes appear in the DVDFab window (“Task Failed…”). Time stamped, most recent at the bottom.

dvdfab_internal.log Attach for all problems. Time stamped, most recent at the bottom. Please edit to include only the most recent or relevant log session.

Make sure that you are using good procedures. Recommendations can be found here.

      This Information Is Required!!!

If using a custom profile, please attach it to your post.

      Your operating system/CPU/memory configuration.
If you have made any recent changes to your OS or system hardware
If you have other DVD or BD software installed, particularly if recently added.

        Oops. Found The Problem

        Here is the info requested:

The DVDFab version number: First 7.0.9.3, and when that didn't work, I upgraded to 7.5.0.8 which also failed. I also tried Version 6.2.1.8; it failed in a different way.

The nature of the problem: 7.0.9.3 & 7.5.0.8: When I first start the program (with the DVD in my DVD drive), the message "Open DVD source: M:\[KICK_ASS]..." is shown on the progress bar. The progress bar will cycle two to three times, and then the program freezes totally. When I click on one of the program windows, the Windows 7 failure screen pops up (Search for a solution on-line, close program, etc.). With 6.2.1.8, the same "Open DVD source" message starts, the progress bar cycles two to five times, and the error message "Error while reading! Please choose what to do? [Retry/Abort/Ignore/Ignore All]" appears.

The EXACT profile you used and any parameters within it that you may have changed: ZEN Vision W. The only parameter I've changed is to increase the volume to 200% (I use the Zen mostly while traveling by air).

If using a custom profile, please attach it to your post: N/A

Whether this happens with all titles or just one: This only happens with this title.

        Your operating system/CPU/memory configuration: Windows 7 Home Premium/Intel Core 2 CPU 6600 @ 2.4 GHz/4 GB Installed Ram

If you have made any recent changes to your OS or system hardware:
        No

If you have other DVD or BD software installed, particularly if recently added: I've had DVD Decryptor installed since I've had the computer.

        dvdfab_internal.log entries:

        ================================================== ======

While pasting the log entries, I found my problem. I thought I had PathPlayer enabled all the time. Once I turned it on, the DVD rips just fine.

Sorry for the false alarm. (And once again, DVDFab comes through with flying colors!)
