BD Ripper (3D Plus) MP4 FPS Revisited

I posted a problem a few weeks ago relating to converting 1080i files (such as BBC Blu Ray) to MP4. The BBC files are all 25 fps while for some reason the FAB ripper converts these to 23.976 (and not the Same as Source as offered). The result is audio sync problems. What I have been doing is ripping them to ipad m4v (where the same as Source works) files and then using another converter to switch them to .mp4 files so my media player can use them (it doesnt recognise the .m4v suffix). However in one of those rare Eureka moments I tried just changing the extension from .m4v to .mp4 - and (yes you have guessed it) - my media player can play them fine (as can my PC). I'm sure you can't do this for protected content files but it works fine on the ripped files.
What bugs me is that if DVDFab can get the frsme rate correct for ipad .m4v conversions why can't it do it for .mp4 when the files seem to be identical or at least very very similar.

I always check this manually, sometimes it just doesn’t pick up the fps accurately. See attachment:

Thanks, but this is for the Blu Ray Ripper where you get no FPS choice to MP4 (unlike the DVD Ripper)

I didn't notice that and and wouldn't have known that in any case I don't use BluRay at all. I just watch them.
