DVD Ripper Quality of DVDFab Output – Scan Lines / ”Jitters”

This question is semi-generic in nature, but I will try and be as detailed as I can with the information that leads to the question.

I converted each episode of Wolverine and The X-Men Disc 5 to Xvid with MP3 audio (see MY DVDFAB SETTINGS below). The thing I notice when I’m watching it is I see scan lines when there is movement, almost like it’s interlaced (I’ve tried to convert an episode with the “deinterlace” option with DVDFab and it yields the same result). I’ve been reading through the forums and I see people complaining of “jittering” with their conversations and I’m not clear if it’s the same issue that I’m experiencing.

I downloaded a copy of one of the episodes mentioned above and it looks crystal clear. I ran my conversion and the one I downloaded through MediaInfo (see MEDIAINFO INFORMATION below) and the only differences I can see is that might have something to do with it is that the DVDFab rip has No warppoints and is 16:9 whereas the downloaded one has 3 warppoints and is a 4:3 format.

I then took the same DVD and converted the episode using avi.NET and TMPGEnc and they did not have any “jitters” (i.e. looked clean like the downloaded version). I’m partial to DVDFab, so I would prefer to keep using it, but the quality is not worth watching in this state.

My question is this, is there a setting I am missing or is necessary to produce a clean conversation like what is being produced other apps?

Please try DVDFab 8.0.3.0 Beta at

http://www.dvdfab.com/mlink/download.php?g=DVDFAB_BETA

to convert again. Open Common Settings->General->A/V Codec, set video decoder/encoder as software, then check if converted files play with "jittering" issues. You can also try using 1-pass to see the result.

I upgraded to 8.0.3.0 and did as you instructed and the quality looks the same.

To provide more info, DVDFab states:
Graphics Chipset :
RDPDD Chained DD

Supported Video Codecs :
DXVA_MODE_H264
DXVA_MODE_VC1

CoreAVC : cannot be detected.

And the Video Decoder and Encoder settings were by default (but all have been changed to Software)
Video Decoder:

Question: I have a ATI Radeon 4300/4500 series video card in my converter PC (with the latest drivers, 10.10). Would that have any impact on the performace?
