BD Ripper (3D Plus) Problems with Avatar blu-ray

    Hello,

I am currently trying to rip my copy of "Avatar" to my hard drive using DVDFab 8.0.5.0, but am having issues.

I am using the "Extended Collector's" 3-Disc Blu-ray edition (Region "B", Europe). The program finds titles and presents information about them correctly (although some titles are missing), but when I choose the ones I want to rip to MKV files (simple remux) and start the process, I get an error message of the following form:

    "Work 1 failed. Error = 504.00 error: process exception. filter(type 1 id18). info = 503.00 13.

After a few of these (Work 1 failed, Work 2 failed, Work 3 failed etc...), the program crashes.

I did try to upload the crash dump data, but it is too big for the forum software to accept it. I can upload individual files or post further information if needed.

I'd greatly appreciate any help in fixing this issue.

    Thanks!

    Hi Number Six,

    Please open Common Settings window,
click on "Diagnosis" to find the "Directory", it is like:
    on Win7 C:\Users\User Name\My Documents\DVDFab\Log
    on Vista C:\Users\User Name\Documents\DVDFab\Log
    on XP C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\My Documents\DVDFab\Log
, please post the internal log file here. We will check where the problem is.

    Sincerely,
    Sunny

OK, I've just checked, and I'm getting the exact same issue (including the same error message and application crash) with Disc 2 also.

It did not occur with Disc 1 however.

It's been well over a week now - has anyone on the support team been able to investigate this yet?

                      hi,

we know this problem, but it's some special error, we still need sometime.

                      thanks.

                        Hello,

                        Thanks for your response.

I was hoping to purchase this software today (due to the special offer), but would only do so if I could get some sort of guarantee that this issue would be fixed - is this the case?

                          You must be kidding!!!!

A guarantee for a hundred buck purchase?

On the other hand, bugs are usually fixed.

Just to update this, I have tried the latest version of DVDFab (8.0.5.6) - the exact same issue persists.

Just tried again, except this time I'm using an ISO of the disk made using other program(with copy protection removed). The exact same problem occurs again.
