I want to rip a Blu-Ray to my Apple TV. What preset should I use? I was using the iPad one in the Windows version and change it to 1280/720 but that preset doesn't seem to be the best in th Mac version.
The best thing I have done that works very well....
If you have a MOVIE disc, then rip the MAIN MOVIE to disc.
If you have an EPSODIC disc, then RIP the WHOLE DISC.
I prefer my episodes broken up and not one monolith file
(like the "play all episodes" track does). Then I use something like VLC to open the folder and see which episode relates to which track. They are not always in order.
Anyway, After you have ripped and you know what track you need, use Handbrake, select the BlueRay Folder you just ripped, choose the track, set to AppleTV or AppleTV2 end then encode.
Last step I do is run the resulting m4v file through Meta-X or Meta-Z (those are, as far as I know, MAC only and allow you you tag the m4v every which way to sunday)
Also, I noticed, that the default AppleTV settings do not necessarily play on AppleTV versions after 4.2.1 (4.2.1 and earlier worked fine. Apple Upgraded the OS and claimed the breaking of playing the files I had was a feature that helps them)
