    no audio with mp4files

OK I tried both the generic.mp4.h264.aac and generic.mp4.h264.mp3
with the same problem as before, good video but no sound. I have
noticed that there is a option to render "direct to video" or a
different option that i can recall. If i pick the render direct to
video option i get one output mp4 icon that gives good video but no
audio, If i pick the other option, I get three output icons the .mp4
with no sound, a .sub that does nothing and a .??? (I don't
remember the extention) that works good, both audio and video. Now
the problem is that extention is not seen by other computers. So,
the sound is there it just is not in the mp4 output file. I need this
file to work. I hope you can help me I am running out of time.

    thanks

I think you have a missing codec problem. Go here and download and install VLC media player, it doesn't need external codecs and I think your problem goes away. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html

Ok thanks for the reply. I will install the codec. What i am trying to do is play these files on a dlna equiped panosonic tv using a media server with twonky. Will this vlp codec help with playing them on the tv because that also plays with no sound????

      thank you

I'll move this to the mac forum where you might get better help. And I would install VLC if there is a mac version and I think there is.
