DVD Copy Can't brin DVDFab to run

    Hi

for several month I try to install DVDFab in different versions. I end up always at the same point. It installs smooth but the icon doesn't looks correct and when I start it then a message pops up saying: "You can't open the application DVDFab.app because it may be a damaged or incomplete."
When I go with the finder into the app and start it from there directly then it tells me that PowerPC applications are no longer supported.

I tried also on a different Mac with same result. The only thing both have in common is I use case sensitive FS. ?

    Any help about this.

    Rob

      Tried 8.1.9 already

      Hi Wilson

I started this thread with trying 8.1.9.0. I also tried:

8.1.9.0 don't start complaining it is a PowerPC APP
8.1.7.3 don't start complaining it is a PowerPC APP
8.1.6.9 don't start complaining it is a PowerPC APP
8.1.6.6 Unknown thread crashed with X86 Thread State (32-bit):
8.1.6.3 Unknown thread crashed with X86 Thread State (32-bit):
8.1.5.9 Unknown thread crashed with X86 Thread State (32-bit):
8.1.3.9 Unknown thread crashed with X86 Thread State (32-bit):

Using two different Mac Mini intel based.

May this application have a problem because I do use case sensitive filesystem?

            8.1.9.2 still fails

Just tried 8.1.9.2 with still the same result.
Will try to repartition my disk to add a non-case sensitive FS to check if that helps.

Works now with Mac OS Extended (Journaled)

                Hi Potti

I cleard everything before installing it.
I took the time yesterday to repartition my disk to add a new filesystem. This time I used:
                Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
copied the DVDFab App folder over it and look, it works!!!!
So, DVDFab installed on "Mac OS Extended (Case-sensitive, Journaled)" file system doesn't work!

I'm a little bit surprised how a application is compiled that it relies on the type of filesystem. Further I'm even more suprised because I mentioned my filesystem several times. I also emailed several times with support at DVDFab directly mentioning I do use the case sensitive filesystem and I asked directly if that could be the cause. My hint was ignored for month.

After waiting a few month I can now test it and hope everything else went well so I can purchase it.

                Rob
