DVD Copy wont burn onto dual layer disc

Hi

I’m having trouble burning to dual layer discs with DVDfab. I’ve selected DVD-9 when copying, and my mac does burn the formats DVD-R DL and DVD+R DL (I’ve checked on the system spec). Everything works OK up until I put the DVD+R DL disc in for burning. When I put it in, after about 60 seconds it says ‘burn process completed successfully’ and the disc is ejected. However there is nothing burned onto the disc (which it clearly can’t do in 60 seconds anyway) – help appreciated

Your drive is seeing a +R single layer blank. Your file should fit on a +R DL.

Thanks. The disc I in is definitely a maxwell DVD+R DL. I've tried 3 different blank versions of this type with same result. Perhaps I should try with another brand of disc ?

I can't see by the numbers why it's not working? Maybe go into common settings/write and increase the the write size of DVD-9 to 8300 or 8400MB and see if it will go?

2,295,104 sectors is what a +R media holds. What if you stick an empty disc in and see what the Mac desktop (or what it's named) reports the size to be.

Hi. Thanks for the replies, but still having problems. I put one of the same blank Maxell DVD+R DL in and it said the media capacity is 8.55GB. It did also say 'content size 1.3MB', dont know if this means it has content on and I cant burn to it ?? I also followed the other suggestion and went into common settings/write and changed it to the size it said for a DVD+R DL disc.
