    DVD/BD Ripper DVDfab - BluRay - iPad - Apple TV - Subtitles

    All,

Back for some additional education and support. (also correct me on any terminology that I get wrong)

I want to archive BluRays in a format that I can:

    1) Play through iPad with subtitles OFF
    2) Play through Apple TV with subtitles ON

I'm starting to play around with some other formats than .m4v, because when I add subtitles, they are embedded in the container and you cannot turn them ON / OFF depending on the viewer and device.

Is there a codec that will support the above scenario that I can try?

Thanks for the confirmation. I guess it's jail break time.
