DVD drive not opening

I am having an issue with the dvd drive not recognizing there is a disc in the drive. When I start dvdfab it does not open the drive and process the disc. If i drag the dvd in it will try to read it. If I try to do a copy to folder it throws an error. How can i fix this issue? The drive is an external usb drive. It works fine in a windows vm on the same machine. It use to work about 3 versions ago. I have attached my log.

Try cleaning the disk fabs having trouble reading it.If scratched up it won't copy even if it plays.Try another disk to see if it works.Log says no main title.

It is not reading anything via auto process window. It will read the disk it is just dvdfab won't bring up the window to read the disk. It looks like a driver issue, but I have not changed anything.

I got it to work by removing the current verso. I then installed 9136 and I restarted the machine. It then started working. I then upgraded to 9157 and it is irking as well. It must have been a conflict of some sort.

The forum user smy has the same issue with you. And help us to check the issue some days.
You should unmount something and then DVDFab read the disc.

We did some improve in the special version, please try it.


And post the new log when you have the issue again.
