Subtitles from mkv will not synch on created bluray

Hi, this is my first time posting. I've been encountering a problem on the bluray creator. I am burning MKV files to blu ray. The sound and picture transfer perfectly.

But the mkv files I'm transferring tend to have subtitle tracks, which I want to bring along to the newly created bluray. When I watch the MKV file, the subtitles are entirely in synch, timed to match the MKV file precisely.

When I play the completed bluray disc, the subtitle track is selectable, but the subtitles are never in synch. They generally seem to start 5 or 6 minutes late, and they proceed like that throughout the content of the disc.

Has anyone encountered this problem? Is there something I could be doing to fix this?

Does it make sense what I'm asking? I don't want to sound like a moron, but I am fumbling around in the dark on this. the MKV files display the subs with perfect synchronization, but somewhere in the burning to disc process the subs get mis-timed.
