Registration failure: "Invalid account or wrong password"

    Hi,

I've recently purchased the Blu-ray media player for Mac (1.0.3.2), but I'm unable to register. When I enter my credentials, it instantly returns "Invalid account or wrong password" (too quickly, like it hasn't actually checked remotely).

I'm able to login to the Member Center of DVDFab and the product is correctly listed - "DVDFab Mac Blu-ray Player", status is "Registration".

I've tried cleaning uninstalling/re-installing, rebooting, cleaning out ~/Documents/DVDFabMediaPlayer, but always get the same error.

I've watched a tcpdump during the registration attempt and do not see any network activity at all, so suspect something else more fundamental is wrong.

    player.log:

I suspect it's got something to do with the JSONRPC error message?

    HS_Internal.log:

(Not sure if its related, but I checked for that addons directory, and found that it does actually exist... so not sure why that error would be showing up).

Any ideas on what else I can try? I can see some other posts show others have received this error in the past, but there were no solutions posted.

    Hi goatherder,

Please go to /Documents/DVDFabPlayer, delete the folder "userdata", then restart DVDFab Media Player to register again.

If still have problem, please email me at mona@dvdfab.com and offer your registered email or order number, we will help you out as soon as possible.

    Regards,
    mona

I've tried that, but still get the same issue. I've sent details (& screenshots, etc) in an email.

      Thanks.

Mac Blu-ray player also refusing registration for me

I have exactly the same problem as goatherder. I can log into the Member Center and confirm that I have a copy of the media player registered to my user name. However, the same user name and password cause Blu-ray player v1.0.3.2 to say "invalid account".

When I search the drive for all files related to DVDFab Media Player, delete them, reboot, download a fresh installer and set it up from scratch, the new player launches saying that my 30 day trial period is over. This is despite the fact that I only ever tried this software less than 20 days ago and bought it right after I tried it for a day. When I try the valid user name and password with the fresh set up, I get the same "invalid account" problem. Very frustrating as the time ticks by on my one year subscription and I can't use the software.

          Hi icepuck,
Both email and password are case sensitive. Please check it. Thanks.

            Continued registration failure

Yes, I redid the whole erase, restart, reinstall, relaunch of Media Player several more times and made sure the caps lock was not on and very carefully typed the exact user name and password the works to log me into the Member Center. Too bad the problem was not that simple.

My player log is remarkably similar to goatherder's with a few extra twists seen before the blank line I added to the listing:

Is there something missing from OS X, Java, or the Media Player install that prevents access to libcrystalhd.dylib and XBMCHelper resources?

                  Hi dfran1
The Fab team is celebrating their New Year, I'm sure they will be addressing all problems when they return.
                  Thanks

Unable to register DVDFab Media player on Mac OS 10.6.8

Hi, I have the same problem of not being able to register and use DVDFab player for Mac. I bought this application in December 2012 hoping to watch the Polar Express in Bluray. Great movie. I still can't use the software, although I paid for it back in December. Tech support exchanged a few emails with me, but did not help. I do not think they know what is going on.

                          Hi, all

Let's clarify the issue from the beginning. Please follow these steps as below.
                          1. Delete "DVDFab Media Player.app" in /Applications and the "DVDFabPlayer" folder in /User/user name/Documents/. Then empty Trash and restart your Mac.
                          2. Reinstall DVDFabMediaPlayer.
                          3. Running Player.
                          - Need confirm that you could connect the register server. If you see the screenshot, you could not connect the register server to register player successfully, you should use a VPN on your MAC and have a try.
