Media player 2.1.3.0 won't open files

I had no issues with opening a video file from my usb hard drive which is connected to a WD media player 2.1.2.0 worked just fine the new beta will not open anything on the USB hard drive Windows media player has no problem opening the files from the WD usb hardive which is on my network.

I am running windows 8.1 preview 64 bit.

I now have this version working still wonder what I did wrong or if they released an updated beta with the same build Number but to make it short everything is working great.
