Settings for subtitles

Mrs Newbie here.

The new options for subtitles, like position/color/style in what format do the subitles need to be in?

Assume I have an .avi file with the subitles in two .idx/.sub files (created by DVDFab) and try to change the settings - nothing happens. The subitles are still in the shape as they were before the change in settings.

Do these "new" settings only apply if the substreams are in a .srt file?

Yep, you can't change the position of IDX/SUBS as the parameters are defined within the stream and can't be over-ridden.

The settings apply to SRT (and ASS and other formats that do not have the definitions)
