Danger Mouse Disc 2 Corrupted Rip

    Hi,

I'm having trouble backing up one of my DVD discs, specifically the second disc from Danger Mouse Seasons 1 & 2. The DVD plays fine in my DVD players. However, when I use DVDFab Passkey 8.2.7.1 to rip an ISO image and view it with VLC, the result is corrupt video when playing back the episodes (the menus appear fine). Other DVDs in the same collection play back fine. Can anyone help?

    Thanks,
    Tim

    Hi,

Did you mean that the DVD menu is shown again when playing the episode?
Please post the passkey log first, thanks!

    Wilson
Please post your logs the default location is:
    For DVDFab 13: C:\Users\User Name\My Documents\DVDFab\DVDFab13\Log
    For StreamFab: C:\Users\User Name\My Documents\DVDFab\StreamFab\log
Please use attachment button and attach your most recent, Internal log and post right here.
If it's the burning issue, please also attach burn log.

    Thanks!

When I play the ripped ISO using VLC:

      1. The main DVD menu comes up.
      2. I click Episodes and the Episodes menu comes up.
      3. I click the first episode on the list. A short copyright video clip plays, followed by a short DVD production credits clip, at which point it goes back to the main menu.
      4. I go back into the episodes menu and click the first episode again.
      5. I see all grey. I can hear the audio, broken up, then after a bit, a garbled image appears.

This happens for any of the episodes.

I'm attaching a screen shot of the corrupt video along with the passkey_internal.log file (there's not much in it).

      Thank you,
      Tim

Forgot to mention, I've upgraded to passkey 8.2.7.2. I also just tried with pathfinder disabled. Same results. Here's the latest log.

Any update on this? I'm still unable to make a good copy of this disc with DVDFab Passkey. I just updated to 8.2.7.5 and it still created an ISO file that doesn't play correctly.

            Hi tjbuege
According to your log you have path player disabled, please go into path player settings and set it to always enabled and try again.
            Hope this helps

Hi, thanks for the reply. I have tried both ways, with path player disabled and enabled. It makes no difference to the resulting iso file. Check the first log I posted, I believe I had path player enabled.

                Hi,

Would you please update to the latest version 8275 and set PathPlayer enabled, and then try again?

Please post the new passkey internal log, pathplayer log files if still have the problem.

Please also save the info file of the DVD and attach here.

                Thanks!

                  Hi Wilson,

I just installed the latest update, 8.2.7.6, made sure path player was enabled, and tested again. Same results. I'm attaching all the files you requested, I added them all to the same zip file. I also removed system.xml from the zip file. I'm not going to post information about my personal laptop on a public forum. If you really need that file (I don't know why), PM me.

Also, the following text was in the Passkey info tab but not in any of the files that I could see:

Have you tried exchanging the DVD set ???
Sounds like you might have a bad disc. Just Because
The disc plays doesn't mean it'll copy fine.

                        Hi Wilson,

Yes, that looks like the correct DVD set. Disc two of that set is the one giving me trouble.

I found my old copy of DVD Decrypter from years ago. It was able to create a clean iso file from the DVD and it played back correctly. I have no reason to believe my copy of the disc is bad.

                        Thanks,
                        Tim

Hi, I'm interested if you fixed this? I have the same issue with Die Hard and have ripped lots of discs without problem. I have copied to ISO with protection removed and plays flawlessly but when i rip it get corrupt play back from the rip?

                            Thanks.

Post the Fab internal log from the corrupted rip not the iso that works. The last disk done is at the bottom and starts with Fab version cut and paste it here as a attachment we don't need all the logs in the folder.
