I've upgraded my Passkey to 9.0.0.2 -- had no issues with Activation, once I reset my Member password, because I couldn't remember what it was -- but I have a question that I haven't seen answered in the announcement material.
Simply: does Passkey 9 fall back to local activation if no Internet connection is found?
My internet connection is ADSL2+, and where I live we're having ongoing disruptions to phone services for the foreseeable future due to major cabling upgrades. If I can't have Internet, then I'd at least like to be able to watch movies. Will Passkey 9 still allow discs without access to its online database?
If not, I guess I need to stick with Passkey 8. But will 8's database continue to be upgraded for new region locking schemas? Or is this all a dead end now without an active internet connection?
(Is that why this was done? So updates wouldn't need to be distributed?)
