File format

I am trying to burn a bunch of music videos for play in my DVD player in my vehicle. I ripped all my DVDs to my HDD in an .avi format, but now find out my player only likes MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 files. So now I am using the File Converter to change all these .avi files to an .mpeg format, but I do not see an option for them. What is the closet option to an MPEG-2?

DVDFab Video Converter cannot convert your .avi files to mpeg-2 format video. Please google "How to convert to MPEG2 video" to get more related references. Hope this helps.
