Video and audio out-of-sync

When I convert the video from DVD format to MP4 it does not convert the entire video into one file, but converts the DVD VTS video files into associated MP4 file, plus the audio and video aren't in sync by the time VTS_02 and increments are converted.
I should have saved my money or simply purchased Other Software for conversions.
