Re-encoding mkv-files with 2-pass conversion fails

I am trying to re-encode mkv-files to smaller mkv-files using 2-pass conversion but it fails (h264 codec). The whole process just halts after DVDFab has done the first encoding. I have disabled GPU-codecs and Lightning-recoding but it won't help. I have tried few different mkv-files with two different computers (Windows XP/7) but still this issue persists. V8.1.6.8 Qt had the same problem. Any fix for this? I think there is a bug that needs to be fixed. But when I encoded one of my DVD's to mkv with 2-pass and h264, I had no problem.

Any fix for this?

2-pass never work for me either. Use 1-pass. I found that 1-pass codec settings in DVDFab produced superb quality content
