When I use the Video Converter option and pull in an mkv file (they are all the same as I have made them myself) with h.264 video and AC3 audio the program will complete the processes successfully. However, when I play the video in Windows Media Player only the audio will play and no video will be displayed, only a black screen. This behavior carriers over to my Xbox 360.
Conversely, if I rip a blu-ray disc straight to the default Xbox 360 wmv10 setting it works. I have mimicked the blu-ray ripping profile and the only thing that cannot be made the same is the video bit rate which can only be set to a maximum of 5000 in the video converter settings.
I have used MediaInfo to analyze both files and they are identical except for the video bitrate.
Video is VC-1 and audio is WMV10 5.1ch.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what may be causing the issue and a possible solution?
