When I am trying to rip to 50% SBS 3D (Mp4 with AAC 5.1) it rips fine, when I am trying to do the same thing but with full size SBS, the program just sits and does nothing..

Below is the log for this move.. I note that when I click Cancel, I get the confirmation question and then it just does nothing (i.e. have to use Alt+F4use to close the program). I also note that when I use MKV, it also does not rip to Full size SBS. . I also tried straight audio copy (instead of AAC) and that does not work also. The only 100% SBS setting that starts to process is MP4 full copy of Audio and Video. But that will stop with a Failed message after about 12.5% (Both 509% and 100% SBS)

Still not working correctly.

With 100% and 50% SBS MP4 Audio & Video passthrough, process fails after 15.3% with the below logs . I will try MP4/MKV with AAC/Audio passthrough next, and also try with switching of CUDA

Tried the following (Now with v9.01.8):

Encoding method set at 2 pass and ripping bit rate set @ High quality
Both at 50% and 100% SBS, it starts the process, FPS starts a 8 FPS and then counts down all the way to 0.1 FPS.. I cancelled at that point.

When I disabled the Cuda Encoding, it appears to work OK both with 50% & 100% SBS. I tried many other combinations, but as soon as you select the 2 Pass ripping method, you have to disable CUDA encoding for it to work.

On the other issue of not being able to rip at 100% SBS Using CUDA at 1 Pass ripping, that is now working..

I also note that the option to Display Only Forced Subtitles does not appear to work right. When I select it in the "Common Settings" dialog, it is not selected correctly in the configuration screen.

When ripping 100% SBS and Encoder set to 2 stage, ripping result does not produce 3d.. all other settings using 100% SBS, only work in the single stage encoding method.. and then it produces poor results that are not recognized as SBS by 3 different players. For the 100% to work at all, Cropping needs to be switched off. The software is absolutely not useable for 100% SBS

What do you mean the cropping needs to be switched off in order for the 100% to work? Do you mean that it won't reencode at all? Or that the encode is wrong when it comes out such as 50% SBS or something like that?

What I mean is that when I have a 3D movie that is 1920 x 800 and rip at 100% SBS, the auto cropping crops of the black bars on top and bottom, but then when you play it back, it plays as very narrow video i.e. 1920 x 400 (or something like that). Maybe there is something wrong with the way the movie/stream header is written to file. By disabling cropping all together it plays back correctly. and as said before 100% SBS just not working well at all for any sort of quality rip..

Why isn't the 100% SBS not working for you? Is it the resolution being squished, or something else? I'm having issues with my full-SBS 3D movies as well, but I think the issue are my 3D players on my PC. My PC's video card supports 3840x2160 resolution, which is enough to handle both 3840x1080 full SBS and 1920x2160 full top/bottom 3D. However, whenever i Play the movie in a 3D movie player such as stereoscopic player or PowerDVD, it looks like it's in half-SBS, not full even though the resolution is full SBS. I believe that the player is squishing the resolution to 1920, but I could be wrong.

I have several other 100% SBS and those are working fine... By other issue is that I am trying to get the MP4 passthrough (Audio and Video) to work. (Create a 100% SBS uncompressed video) I can then use proper encoding software. DVDFab encoding does not support constant quality ripping and the 2 pass encoding is not working when Cuda is enabled.

Hi there,
Passthrough means do not decode and encode the video and audio, but the profile for 3D should encode the video at least. So the profile "3d.mp4.passthrough" is a bad profile, which should be removed. Please try other profiles. Thanks.

Figured as much, still can not do 100% SBS w2ith any profile nor can I get the 2 pass encoding to work.. only works with 1 Pass.

There is a bug when ripping to 3D format and 3D device with 2 pass, which are on our fixing list. Please use 1 pass for now and wait for the fixed release. Thanks.

Just tried new version 9.0.2.0, still 2 Pas decoding does not work for ripping a 3D movie. (Tried 5 different movies). By does not work, I select 2 Pass decoding and then also High quality and it starts the first pass process, at about 7 FPS and then counts down slowly to 0.1 FPS and then appears to not make any progress, at which time I shut her down.. The 1 Pass at high quality runs at 50 to 80 FPS which is good.. Are you guys going to fix the 2 Pass? and/or even better, implement constant quality encoding? I note that for me the not having DVD Fab 2 pass encoding for 3D working is a major issue.. Is there any way to rip lossless SBS?

That appears to work @ 50% SBS (FPS for 1st pass is holding at about 22 FPS). I will try 100% SBS after this is done.. FYI.. I have a GeForce GTX 550 TI with intel I-7 920 CPU

OK, it did work and complete, but quality is horrible.. a lot of blocking in the picture. So a 2 Pass/High quality software encoding only looks horrible as compared to a Single Pass High Quality using CUDA.. Next I will rip Single Pass/High quality without CUDA and see how that works.. If that also shows a lot of blocking, then it is the software encoding causing the poor quality.. I just whish DVDFab would implement Constant Quality encoding..

Just did a few chapters using single pass/high quality software encode only and it is terribly blocky.. Clearly, only way to get a decent rip is using the hardware based encoding and with that the 2 Pass is not working.. need a fix please!

Yes. Ronvp is right.

I ripped Avatar 3D with version 9.0.2.0 selecting one pass high quality 100% SBS. Sad to say, but the resulting image quality was poor. I had the profile 3d.mkv.h264.audiocopy.

2-pass high quality stopped working on the second pass.

Compression doesn't seem to work well for 3D images. The resulting mkv would need to stay uncompressed. That should improve quality, but at the expense of a larger file size. That's fine, however for those of us looking favoring quality over size.
