Will the DVDFab Video Converter software convert .iso to .mp4?

Use the ripper module for that it does a great job.

Hmmm, the word "rip" has taken on new meaning since I first heard it. It used to mean copying files from a disk to a drive. What I'm trying to do is convert an .iso on my SSD to a .mp4 also on my SSD. Should I still use the ripper module?

Confusing I guess but that is exactly what the ripper module does, and does very well.

Confusing, yes! If I convert with the ripper do I rip with the converter?

Yeah, but I've been video inactive in recent years. Turns out I have a trial version of "Ripper" from DVD9 and it did indeed convert an .iso to mp4 but kinda slowly. Is the newer version any faster and is there a way to go directly from VOB files to mp4? I know I'll have to buy something. I just don't want to buy more than I need or the wrong thing.

The ripper will use a DVD or an iso as the source for an mp4. The converter module will change one file format (container) to another like an mkv to mp4.

But will the ripper remove DRM while creating the mp4?

FYI, I bought the new ripper and it seems to work fine. Thanks.
