Converting to 10bit or 12bit video

    Hi there
When I create 10bit and 12bit MKVs (h264 as well as h265) the result is usually darker than the original and in many cases just a bit too dark. Is there any reason this happens and is there a way to fix this?

Following on from this question and after doing a bit of reading on the subject the best way to view these videos is on TVs, monitors, etc., with HDR. So really, if I want to convert to these formats & still be able to appreciate them I think it's best to stick to videos where the original quality isn't too dark too begin with.

Hi magnu, please use the free tool Mediainfo to analyze the source file as well as the output from DVDFab and then post the results here to help to analyze the problem, thank you.
