Updater not working - 12.0.6

I get the window up that an update is available and after it is downloaded, it says it is installing but then it fails the install.

If I download from the website and install it updates properly.

I had the same issue when trying to update to 12.0.6.0

Would be nice to have this fixed for the next release.

I get a completely blank update window. Only thing there is the X in the upper right corner.

1. Please check and make sure that your antivirus software or the firewall won't block the updating/installation process.

2. C:\Users\xxx\Documents\DVDFab\DVDFab12\Temp\update \updateLog
Under this path, there should be two log files, please post them as well.

3. You can download the offline version at https://www.dvdfab.cn/download.htm to install and get update manually too.

did you receive the update through the app store or when you start dvdfab ??

I don't know what you mean when you say "app store". When I start DVD Fab, it says there are updates available, I proceed, it says it is downloaded, it then says Installing, it then says it failed.
If I update manually, it works.

I tried to update few days ago. When I launched DvdFab, a small window popped up and reminded me an update was available. Small update, only 15.3 MB. It failed several times. I decided to wait until next update. (This issue happened to me in the past.)

I followed October262's suggestion and checked app settings with Windows 10. It showed 'app installation was available from anywhere'. So, I tried again to update DvdFab today. No luck.

I decided to pause my Nordvpn. (My Nordvpn server is usually closest to my house, and I live in the States.) My final attempt was successful. Now, I have the latest version. I need to remember it next time.

These are all the log files? It's not the latest.

Yes, those are the only 2 I found. I had downloaded and installed the update manually twice since that date as the update did not work.

The developer suggested deleting the logs under that updateLog folder and then update DVDFab again, if encounter the same update installation failure, please provide the latest updatelog files. Thanks.

I currently have 12.0.6.1 and when I click on "Update Now" in the update window, the "Status" immediately switches to "Failed" and the window closes.

No files get created in the updateLog folder so have sent the below hoping it will help.

are you running dvdfab as administrator ??
right click on the dvdfab desktop icon and select "run as administrator"
then try the updater and see if it still fails.
