DVDFab v12.0.6.4 (Win) Possible issue with Windows 11?

I always do offline updates since often, at least for me, live updates seem to hang. I did notice that since updating to Windows 11 Pro, the offline updates seem to hang for about 30 seconds during install, but then resume and complete ok. Not sure if this is related to a Windows 11 issue or a DVDFab issue. I never noticed this behavior before updating to Win11.

I deleted all my log files to generate 'clean' logs and zipped them all, attached below. Even though it seems to install ok, I did note some errors listed when reviewing the logs.

Can developers look at this and see if there is a concern (it seems to run fine, but still concerned about some of the error listings). BTW, Windows 11 still reports as Windows 10, but the build is 22000 which is Windows 11 build. As I understand it, Microsoft did this so for compatibility so some programs that look for and need to see the version as Windows 10, will run.

    Thank you

When did the hang problem happen? On which step?

From the log file you provided, the developer does not find info about "hang for about 30 seconds during install".
The offline update here means an offline full version or a 6.2MB fresh online installer?

About the online update failure issue, please provide the log files under C:\Users\xxx\Documents\DVDFab\DVDFab12\Temp\update \updateLog.

I don't do live updates so I have no log files to offer for now.

I just did offline update to 12.0.6.5. The download and install went fine. However, when running it for the first time, when the splash screen displays, it shows 'Loging in' within the splash screen and it hangs for a while. It does finally come up.

When I close it and attempt to start a new session, it hangs for a while. I have attached log files (These are clean and only contain logs from the last session). You can see when it first launches the time stamp is 9:23:07. Then at 9:23:09 through 9:23:37 (a span of 28 seconds) the following entries:

2022.03.17-09:23:09 (17388): Movie Server: Fresh Cloud SsdpServers
2022.03.17-09:23:11 (16360): End Load playcore dll
      2022.03.17-09:23:13 (17388): Movie Server: Get ServerCount 0
      2022.03.17-09:23:15 (17388): Movie Server: Get ServerCount 0
      2022.03.17-09:23:18 (17388): Movie Server: Get ServerCount 0
      2022.03.17-09:23:22 (17388): Movie Server: Get ServerCount 0
      2022.03.17-09:23:27 (17388): Movie Server: Get ServerCount 0
2022.03.17-09:23:30 (17084): error curl post: Couldn't connect to server
2022.03.17-09:23:37 (15924): Init process: init main ui successful.

FYI, I do NOT have Movie Server so not sure why its trying to connect to it.

Then at the end this error:

2022.03.17-09:23:52 (17084): error curl post: Couldn't connect to server
2022.03.17-09:23:58 (1460): Downloader_info: Failed download file: config.xml, error code is: Couldn't connect to server

So from start to finish is almost a minute!

I also noted this error in the utilities log file:

2022.03.17-09:23:08: FATAL ERROR: the header file is inconsistent with dll, dll version:, header file version: 20220316-52672d5

I don't have any connection issues with any other apps. I also have dvdfab.com and dvdfab.com.cn white listed.

      Any suggestions?

      Thank you

I don' know of I should start a separate thread on this but noticed that the GPU memory size is incorrectly identified. I have an EVGA Nvidia GTX 1050 GPU, which has 2 GB of DDR5 RAM. DVDFab reports only 1 GB as shown in the attached partial screenshot. Wasn't sure if this is an issue or not (I know its not related to the above issue but just wanted to mention it).

        Thank you

Regarding the long pause issue, I reinstalled version 12.0.6.3, and that one loaded fine, without the long pause and multiple "Movie Server: Get ServerCount 0" posts in the log that seem to be causing the delay. It appears that the app is trying to connect with a non-existent Movie Server device. For comparison, in the event developers can use it, I have included all the log files from that version (again clean logs with that being the only session). So apparently there is an issue with or bug in 12.0.6.5.

For now, I'll use 12,0,6,3 version until they can get it figured out.

One additional bit of information, I just notice that when launching 12.0.6.3, which starts and runs just fine, it takes quite a while before I get the box telling me a newer version is available. So I think the issue is possibly a server issue on your end.

              Thanks

Thanks for the additional information, I have passed your log file in the previous post to the developer, they will check it out.

Mona Just installed 12.0.6.6. and that seems to have fixed the issue.

                  Thank you!

Btw, even though it installed fine and now runs good without the delays in earlier version, I did notice that the update log files contain numerous errors. Just wanted to point that out. Thank you.

Thank you for the feedback. I have consulted the developer, who confirms that the errors in the update log files are known, however, it would not affect the update feature. The developer will correct it as soon as possible.
