    StreamFab v4.0.1.3 (Win) Amazon H.265 vs H.264

    Just for your information.

I downloaded a video from Amazon.com first with the H.264 setting and then with the H.265 setting. Not only was the file size smaller with the H.265 setting but the audio track was AC3 5.1. Surprisingly the audio track with the H.264 setting was only AC3 2.0 stereo with a larger file size. The resolution on both was 1920/800.

Yes v4.0.1.3 has fixed respecting the H264/H265 setting for Amazon. The H265 (HEVC) files are smaller, but if I recall correctly that is because HEVC/H265 is more efficient at the same bit rates.

And so far Jolt and Without Remorse, which downloaded as H264 and 224 kb/s, 84 kHz, 2 Channel E-AC-3 (DD+) audio on 4.0.1.2, they now come down as HEVC(h265) video with 640 kb/s 48 kHz, 6 Channel (5.1), E-AC-3 (DD+) audio.

      Thanks for confirming.

Any users who are only getting AC3 2.0 stereo (where it should be AC3 5.1) on Amazon should change the setting to H.265 in version 4.0.1.3.

That is, assuming your devices can playback H265/HEVC (which most FireTV's, Roku's, Nvidia Shield, and many Android TV boxes can) OR you are using something like Plex server which can transcode on the fly

I redownloaded Jolt, it did come across as H265 and AC3 5.1
