Been taking 2 hours per episode of Dallas. New version and while everything seems quicker the whole thing stalls while Remuxing and unlike previous version there's no mention of 1080 while downloading

What doesn’t work yet on Amazon is downloading subtitles.

When going from using a screen recorder mode StreamFab to a direct download version one (and vice versa) it is important to clean everything out. My suggestion is to do a clean installation of the latest StreamFab release, meaning use a "professional Uninstaller" such as Revo, Ashampoo, and many others (Google "Uninstallers" for additional free and pay programs) to uninstall SF. Right now, I prefer the Ashampoo - https://www.ashampoo.com/en-us/uninstaller-free. Revo sometimes makes you reboot your computer.

1) Delete your StreamFab Log and Temp folders.
2) Run your uninstaller and remove the existing StreamFab including the registry entries. At one point, it will ask you if you want to save your StreamFab configuration. Say NO. A StreamFab window will come up and ask why you are uninstalling, choose Other.
3) Start reinstall using latest offline update file. I prefer to get mine from the Sticky at the top of this forum.
4) A StreamFab popup will ask for your email/password to authorize your StreamFab. Give your DVDFab email/password, not your forum email/password, if different.
5) Ignore all the garbage advertisements. I don't think I have to tell you that.
6) Reset up your Settings and the GUI the way you want it to look.
7) It is always best to close and then open StreamFab at this point.
8) Give StreamFab a try.

Nobody knows where you download Dallas!

I regret I didn't see your comment earlier - the only way I could install 6.1.8.1. was to upgrade from 6.1.7.8. because I couldn't download it from the downloads page - my AV removed it as unsafe. And now previously installed software is malfunctioning. I just got a download of 8.1. that was acceptable using the Sticky, so thanks for that reminder - now to yank everything out and reinstall.

I upgraded from 6.1.6.7, the last real downloader. Screen recorder is not an option for me.

Update on subtitles:
Extract original format works, SRT and Remux to file fail on everything I've tried. It doesn't seem to be an Amazon specific problem. On Disney, I downloaded the first episode of "The Acolyte". The subtitles are missing here too.

It was an update issue. Completely uninstalling and reinstalling fixed it.

I have not tried to install 6.1.8.1 yet (waiting on Peacock fix) but you might want to try this to fix your subtitle problem. I can't guarantee it will work, but it won't hurt anything if it doesn't. Grab the latest version of MKVToolNix (64 bit or 32 bit depending on your system) which is General Policies from https://mkvtoolnix.download/downloads.html#windows. Install it. Take the mkvmerge.exe file from the installed location and copy it to C:\Program Files\DVDFab\StreamFab to replace the existing mkvmerge.exe. The original mkvmerge.exe is very old, at version #68. A great many security and bug fixes have been done to mkvmerge since then. This might fix the subtitle problem.

I see that you fixed it with an update while I was typing this in. Excellent. Installing the latest mkvmerge is still a good idea either way.

I use MKVToolNix frequently. Currently version 85. Yes, Fab is way behind.

Stupid forum program! It translated "# 85" (minus the space in the middle) into "General Policies" in my message above.

You still need to copy the new mkvmerge.exe into the StreamFab directory to make it use that version.

I'll give you 3 guesses. But as the thread is called "Fully Fixed Amazon DRM" it does seem obvious.

The US Amazon has the nice new HD versions for free but the UK site still has crappy SD

Refresh my memory. For Netflix, do you need the Add Free plan? or does the StreamFab work with the add supported plan?

As with all ad supported sites (freevee etc) Streamfab downloads do not include the ads. I have the ad supported Prime and Netflix but only watch downloads so I can avoid the ads
