    StreamFab General Query StreamFab Forum SMTP functions are broken and SF doesn't seem too concerned about it

    After being logged out from the forum last week and getting a notification that my password was a year old and therefore "expired," I created a new one and logged in. The next day I was logged out again, but neither my new or old passsword worked. The really fun part was the "forgot your password?" email that should have helped me reset my password to log in was never sent to my email account. I tried several times, and they weren't in my email or my spam folder - they were nowhere to be found for the very good reason that SF never sent a single one.

    It took me TWO tickets to finally get my password reset, because after the first complaint I was told yet again to look in my spam folder - because it's a lot easier to respond with a canned, scripted reply than it is to see if the system is actually generating any emails. When I didn't get a reply to my reponse that I already had done that, but there was nothing in the spam folder because the email was never sent, I had to create a second ticket - at least that time SF support read my request to reset my password for me.

    Since there's no longer any chat function, trying for days to get a solution for what should have been a five-minute fix is really ridiculous.

    Actually had the same issue with Petco website. Took a few emails & phone calls to them to fix it.

      At least Petco has an 800 number and a chat feature. Too bad that SF has discontinued their chat support, it's been very helpful in the past and would have resolved this much sooner. I'm sure I'm not the only one who encountered this problem, they need to fix the issue.

        this seems to be an ongoing issue, i had the problem that after registering for an forum account I just did not get an confirmation mail to verify my account, so for months I could not create posts, answer or whatever else. and the registration was a few months ago.
        Btw. they did also not reply to the help requests sent via the forum direclty https://forum.dvdfab.cn/contact-us

          Let's just say both of mine were .... emphatic. As in full of italics, boldface, capital letters and exclamation points. I figure they responded to my second ticket only because they didn't want to see any more of that.

            The same happened to me. I have noticed that if we make a proton mail account, the forum mails such as registration/forgot password mails etc... never arrives or arrives like only after weeks. Gmail worked without any issues or delays. On a side note they respond if we open tickets in https://streamfab.com/member.htm?a=ticket. For example, I could not post anything in here on the forum even if I was a paid subscriber. It said "Sorry, you are not authorized to view this page." They only activated my forum account after opening a ticket.

              As I have a gmail account, if you've received any login rescue emails from the forum, then you're fortunate. I really don't think it's restricted to proton mail accounts.

                I don't know if getting the right to post ever worked here. I signed up, got a confirmation email, and an activate link right away, but then once logged in there was no ability to post.
                I still know of people having issues with that. You have to contact them either by the contact form on the forum (https://forum.dvdfab.cn/contact-us) or through the support through your account with DVD(https://streamfab.com/member.htm?a=ticket).

                There have also been a number of people claiming they don't get notifications via email. I don't use that option, I get some notifications on the forum, once I come on.

                This definitely can be an issue if they are going to push people to change or reset their password, as again that requires an email link.

                Some forums do that to reduce spam, you have to wait till an admin activates posting, but it seems they don't either get a notification as well or wait till you get to the point of contacting them.

                On or about the end of 2024 I will be losing access to Netflix Standard.
                After that, I might reevaluate if I want Netflix Standard /w Ads.
                I will continue to have access to Amazon w/ Ads and Peacock w/ Ads.
                TheCW, Pluto, Roku Channel, Tubi, and Plex, along with others, are good FREE w/ Ads services.

                  I somehow posted the wrong link for support through dvdfab for streamfab or other dvdfab products.
                  DVDFab Member Center aims to provide best user experience, here users can request resending key, changing email and renewing DVDFab products such as DVD Copy, Blu-ray Copy, DVD Ripper, Blu-ray Ripper and so on.
