HDR Upscale refuses to upscale

The HDR Upscale module says videos need to be 720p or better to upscale so what does it think a 720p video is?

An interlaced video from a DVD source converted to progressive at a resolution of 1280 x 720 (720p, aspect ratio 16:9) is accepted on open but another interlaced video from a DVD source converted to progressive at a resolution 960 x 720 (720p, aspect ration 4:3) is rejected, why?

I should also add that for both videos the storage resolution is 900 x 720, the dimensions above are the display resolution.

Why do you say that?

Are you claiming that an aspect radio 900 x 720 video of aspect ration 4:3 is not a 720p video or are you saying that your program only understands these videos if they have black bars on the left and right to make them 1280 horizontally. That seems to be hard to do with your video conversion software.

Are you also saying that an anamorphic 900 x 720 resolution video of aspect ratio 16:9 is ok with your program because its display resolution is 1280 x 720 which makes it 720p.

Your statement by itself does not provide sufficient information to understand why your program rejects the video I'm questioning.

I'm pretty sure that my aspect ratio 4:3 video of 720 vertical resolution does qualify as a 720p video!

raven-au if I were you, I would also open a support ticket if you haven't already. I know a lot gets posted to this forum about issues with Unifab. That's all well and good, but we need to take it up with the development team via a support ticket if there are software issues. I'm not sure everything posted in this forum in the way of software issues is escalated to their development team.

That's the one thing I miss about RedFox (if you're even familiar with that former company and their media tools). If you posted something to their forum about a software glitch, it was the equivalent of opening a support ticket and it would get attention and get fixed, or they'd educate you on why things were working that way and how to work with or around them. The moderators there were very adept with providing educated and informed answers and I considered them subject matter experts on all they responded to. I don't see any of that happening in these forums here other than an occasional less-than-adequate acknowledgment from a moderator who may know next to nothing about what you're talking about.

Currently only 1280x720 is supported, we will consider adding 960 x720.

I am using the up-scaler, and it takes about 200 for a 2-hour movie. Great results. 480p to 2160p

I hadn't actually noticed I could log support requests, I guess I really should do that, after all I require it for the product I maintain,
