Trying UniFab

I am currently trying UniFab but I don't understand the thinking of the Fab team. UniFab does not work on MKV files yet DVDFab will not do MP4 passthrough. VOB passthrough does not really work properly as you lose chapters and proper time code. So right now the only way to upscale is to rip to a folder and then encode with Handbrake to MP4 (I prefer Handbrakes encoding over Fab). Then I can import into UniFab and upscale. This seems counterintuitive.

Also sort of unrelated but up-scaling a DVD to full HD took 30 hours, this is on a Core I9, 64gig Ram and Raedeon 7800XT, is this considered a normal time?

How UniFab doesn't work on MKV?

Is there any error message？ Would you provide step by step screenshot for check?

Screen shots show supported file types and where the whole process stops. I let it sit over night and never progresses past this.
