3.0.1.3 not working with Twitch

I've not downloaded any twitch videos for a while but wanted to today and Download 3.0.1.3 is failing immediately with a

Unable to download JSON metadata

error.

For example, grabbing a video at random - https://www.twitch.tv/videos/901147708

but I've tried it on several vids today and they all fail with the same error.

i had no issue downloading this video https://www.twitch.tv/videos/901147708
using youtube-dl on it's own, but it does fail if you try downloading via the dvdfab downloader.
