    Netflix Fast Download

Works Great and no big issues so far.

Only Small things i have found are the following.

    - The Bit Rate of The Audio Seams Low only at 192Kb for EAC3
    - Some Titles Bit Rate Seam a Little Lower then expected around 2Mbs
    - Audio Language Defaults to German

I'm seeing 4+ Mbps on everything I've downloaded with the new version.. maybe check your settings within your netflix screen profile and make sure quality is set to high?

Also seeing German as the default language, and low audio quality, even though they're claiming to have improved it in this version

I've problems on my netflix. All movies and tvshows with latin characters as ç ã õ á é í ó ú, are not possible to download. The audio and subtitle options doesn't appear.

Mine is set for high quality and has been downloading 1080p consistently in older versions. BUt I'm seeing variations in v3.2.0.0.

        For example, Stowaway downloaded as...

Overall bit rate mode : Variable
        Overall bit rate : 1 438 kb/s
        Movie name : Stowaway
Video Bit rate mode : Variable
        Video Bit rate : 1 238 kb/s
        Maximum bit rate : 20.0 Mb/s
        Width : 1 920 pixels
        Height : 1 080 pixels

Where as Casino Royale downloaded as...

Overall bit rate mode : Variable
        Overall bit rate : 7 439 kb/s
        Movie name : Casino Royale
Video Bit rate mode : Variable
        Video Bit rate : 7 237 kb/s
        Maximum bit rate : 20.0 Mb/s
        Width : 1 920 pixels
        Height : 1 080 pixels

Oddly The Roommate came down as 960x540

        Duration : 1 h 31 min
Overall bit rate mode : Variable
        Overall bit rate : 602 kb/s
        Movie name : The Roommate
Video Bit rate mode : Variable
        Video Bit rate : 396 kb/s
        Maximum bit rate : 10 000 kb/s
        Width : 960 pixels
        Height : 540 pixels

Most of mine downloaded English as default. BUT I did get one or two that German was default selected and I had to change to English.

Audio with Netflix was 192Kb before for 5.1 audio, just AC3, not EAC3. I did have one movie download as 2 channel 125kbps AAC LC, and another 2 channel audio that downloaded as 224kb/s E-AC-3.

I haven't listened with my surround setup yet, I'll probably do that tomorrow sometime, to see how it sounds compared to streaming the movie via Netflix on my FireTV Stick 4k, or Roku Ultra.

Is see the German default language on SOME movies. Same with the low video/overall bit rate. (see my other post)

EDIT: nevermind that was an Amazon download

I tested downloading the movie Stowaay from Netflix with 3.1.0.6 and 3.2.0.0 to compare the download methods for video / audio bitrate and quality. It downloaded much faster with 3.2.0.0.

Here are the results with both having 1920x1080 resolution:

            3.1.0.6

            File size : 3.43 GiB
            Duration : 1 h 56 min
Overall bit rate mode : Variable
            Overall bit rate : 4 234 kb/s
            Maximum bit rate : 5 500 kb/s
            Format : AAC LC SBR
            Bit rate : 192 kb/s
            Channel(s) : 6 channels
            Channel layout : C L R Ls Rs LFE

            3.2.0.0

            File size : 1.17 GiB
            Duration : 1 h 56 min
Overall bit rate mode : Variable
            Overall bit rate : 1 437 kb/s
            Maximum bit rate : 20.0 Mb/s
            Format : E-AC-3
            Bit rate : 192 kb/s
            Channel(s) : 6 channels
            Channel layout : L R C LFE Ls Rs

the reason why it is at the lower bitrate as its getting the download direct from Netflix and not screen recording it as it has in previous versions its a true downloader now

I figured as much. It shows the lower quality of Netflix with 1080P movies at 1.5mb/s bit rates.

1.5mbps is /probably/ the actual original stream from Netflix that was previously getting recompressed to 5mbps previously,

This means that the 1.5mbps version is ACTUALLY higher quality version, despite what the bitrate implies

Since MP4is a lossless compression format, you cannot get better quality than the source. At best you can get close to the same quality, but the size of the resulting file would be WELL over the 100GB file size for 1 hour clip in with minimal compression

KidJoe did you ever get a chance to do a sound quality comparison as you mentioned?

I don't think the 1.5mbps is the best from Netflix. When checking the bit rate using the Windows 10 Netflix app I see much higher bit rates. So I don't think the Downloader is getting the best available.

Please give us a video link to one of the examples. Also, drmDownloader log file is needed, thank you.
