Has anyone else noticed that random downloads from Amazon will only download in 540p or less?
Is this something to do with the DRM changes or?

Partially yes - if new or re-released (e.g. after channel changed)

Older content is full hd - if offered by provider

This has been reported several times - Amazon sometimes halves or doubles the bitrate within a season.

However, in individual cases it could also be the case that the recognition does not run smoothly.
