I don't know. I have heard so much about DRM. I have heard people talk about getting and/or making keys. Doing other methods.
From what I can tell is if it's so easy, then why does 'AS' still have issues with anything on Netflix other than SD.
My answer is I don't believe it's very easy, as 'AS' would have implemented the method.
It's an overall sad situation as 'SF' continues to struggle with Amazon and Peacock let alone other providers.
The agonizing method used by SF to get Amazon has made that module useless, and the inability to get newer content by SF on Peacock has made that module useless as well.
With Amazon, SF should go back to downloading in SD like the Netflix module and then encode or re-encode, what ever people want to call it, to 1080p
I can get files at SD from Netflix and simply use the free program ffmpeg to encode to 1080p, if I so decide.
ffmpeg is one of the many open source programs SF itself uses, and you can easily get the latest from the ffmpeg website.
And like others, we can all go to whatever program or programs we want. AS is coming out very strong with Amazon and Peacock. And I am sure others, but I have no other providers.
So many screen recorders available, we don't need it in SF. And most work better than when SF attempts it.
But sadly, screen recording has become the norm for most programs because they don't even want to attempt bypassing DRM.
And I also know I am not the only one concerned with the length of time 'AS' has spent trying to get Netflix any higher than SD.
If other streamers figure out what Netflix is doing, what's to prevent it from happening to the others.
I know a few here have said the day may come quicker than what anyone wants to where you can no longer download from the pay streamers.
You may either have to put up with encoding/re-encoding or screen recording or like more and more are also finding out via torrent or other means.
What a waste of time, streamfab so-called support.

If you encode SD in 1080p, the output quality will be terrible.
if you upscale SD at 1080p, it will require much more power and time.
sf currently just captures frames in fast forward in the original 1080p quality. not from 540p to 1080p, but from 1080p to 1080p
They also said that back when the Blu Ray came out. The copy protection cannot be cracked.
I think it took less than 4 weeks to resolve it...
It's cat and mouse... Nothing is 100% safe in the world
Besides, it's May now. If things go very badly, Redfox has cracked Netflix and the next DRM update is just around the corner 3 days later...
And if Porno Fab really manages to crack Amazon and Netflix, they'll be too late anyway!

There is no "struggle" with Peacock. As best as can be determined, they have NEVER worked on cracking its key, just Amazon and Netflix.
I alerted Wilson to the Peacock problem on the day after it started. I never received a reply back from him on the subject, nor was Peacock ever mentioned in any post by Wilson after that, always just Amazon and Netflix.
On the subject of Peacock, besides new videos not downloading at all there is a long standing problem of the user having to manually login to Peacock before almost every download. That's a nuisance that I worked around by keeping my email and password in an open Notepad file so I could do a quick copy and paste. during my trial with The Competition, I not only downloaded new videos that StreamFab could not download, but I was never logged out. I only had to manually login once. My Peacock subscription has ended so it's no longer my concern, but it should be a concern for StreamFab. Peacock is NBC, one of the 3 big American networks, and has a lot of content that StreamFab customers will want to access ... when they get bored of Japanese porn.
