    Netflix & HEVC

Notice that with latest ver streamfab able to download the titles in HEVC direct however file size is too big for HEVC compare to X264 codec , not make since that X264 is smaller than x265. ???

The only services that download in H265 are Amazon and HBOMax. Everything else is h264.

H265 should be a smaller size file for the same resolution\bit rate\ etc. than h264

Last I checked that is not possible with this software using Netflix

What title did you download that you believe came down as h265?

Are you sure StreamFab is downloading HEVC(H265) from Netflix? Or is it AVC(H264)?

Can you check with to see what is listed for the video format? When MediaInfo is set as View->Basic you should see 1 Video Stream: AVC or 1 Video Stream: HEVC. Or under View -> Text, you'll see a video section and the info like I have below...

And why do you think the file is "too big for HEVC"? Sure all things being equal (i.e. resolution, bit rate, color depth, etc.) H265 should produce a smaller video than H264. But the video codec used (H264 vs H265) is only one part of the equation. A High Bitrate HEVC file containing 6 EAC3 JOC with Atmos can have a larger file size than a medium bitrate H264 with 2 channel AAC audio

PS: I just downloaded Just Like Heaven and The Devil All The Time from Netflix and video for both is AVC/H264.

For comparison (this is not the full info, only the relevant info):

As you can see, even using the same AVC/H264 codec, they are much different files sizes due to movie length, bit rate, frame rate, and audio track size (due to length). Also, The Devil All the Time included 4 separate audio tracks where as Just Like Heaven only included 2.
