I'm wondering if prime purchases are available via streamfab? Or is it just the stuff with prime? I have never bought from prime, just apple and was hoping if I used prime I could use streamfab.
Is Streamfab easy to use? Yes, and no.
From a basic end user perspective, you should be fine. Just remember there are two settings areas that need to be changed.
General:
For Youtube stuff, and sites like that
VIP Services:
For the VIP Services (Amazon, etc).
Go through all the settings in those two categories, and understand that videos are saved in different locations based on what you're saving (it is confusing)
The rest is pretty much just like your browser. Login to site, select video, Streamfab looks to see what needs to be / can be downloaded and you're on your way
If you're an advanced user, or if you use OneDrive (many people do), you'll find the settings frustrating, as there is a constant battle waging between Streamfab and OneDrive over Documents. Even if you change the basic stuff (it can be done), StreamFab still caches files where it shouldn't, among other things. Brought this up , repeatedly, only to have it dismissed by support, so, from a technical perspective, I'd say no, it's not easy to use, and support doesn't care
That said, scroll through the streamfab forums. You'll see problems, and resolutions, so, in many cases, it CAN be used. I've done so for over a year now.
Anything you can access with your account, including
purchases
rentals
TV channels (Discovery, AMC, etc)
Prime Videos
IMDB TV
All can be accessed via Streamfab. The bonus of grabbing through Streamfab is no commercials in IMDB stuff
Ah nice. I wish purchases were available earlier here in Aus via prime. All my stuff on Apple I can't really get decently. I mean I have DVD Fab and can do the Itunes download but that is just dolby digital / AC3, not DD+. And it is so hard to use.
It'd be nice if Streamfab could access your Itunes library too. Mind you I never got the AppleTV Plus downloader to work at all when I had a free trial. It didn't really worry my though as the content on appletv was pretty worthless to me so I never used it. I ended up cancelling it early.
So, I'm thinking seriously about taking the plunge and buying streamfab, (I'm a long time member here who uses DVD and Blu-Ray Fab).
I have Amazon Prime membership and a Disney Membership. I am in the US.
Is Streamfab easy to use?
Any lingering problems?
Sell me on this, why I should buy it this weekend.
Thanks,
Hawkgirl
It is very easy to use, and newer versions much better. The only problems are really just if some sort of thing changes like encryption you may need to wait for a new release for it to be sorted. But works very well.
