PlayerFab over VPN, keeps asking for Authorization for Computer

I normally don't use PlayerFab, but rather VLC (3.0.16).

I started testing using PlayerFab to play bad/pixelated files per Mona when I encountered this previously for documentation for techs when I post here.

PlayerFab keeps asking me to authorize for this computer when used over Nordvpn.

DVDFab & StreamFab dont' have this issue.

Will I run up against some authorization limit if I keep doing this?

Or should I just use Try instead each time?

    Thanks!

If you do not connect using Nordvpn, PlayerFab stops asking you to authorize again every time you run it?

      Nevermind...

I never used PlayerFab previously before you told me and thought I had to authorize it, but evidently it's setup for authorization for paid access only.

The first screen encountered see attachment says in 2nd paragraph, "Please authorize your license on this computer, or try feature and feature 30 days for free, or use PlayerFab Video Player free forever.

I guess it was setup with the "Try" button, because you have other player products, but you have to use the "Try" button every time for the forever free video player?

      1. Which leads me to another question.

You suggested I use PlayerFab to test some of the files offered by StreamFab/download by a streaming services that were "pixelated" when I encountered that problem before and I was only testing using VLC.

Is the PlayerFab free forever version fully supported/updated for testing of 4K UHD, HEVC and other media files in the event that you (admins) want us to use it to test playback as a troubleshooting step?

I ask this since in the first PlayerFab screen it has in 3rd paragraph that the Benefits of a paid version: 2. All-inclusive support of 4K UHD, HEVC and other media files.

      *****

      2. I interpreted "Try" button as being limited in timeframe (like Trial), so I thought I would "authorize" it with StreamFab/Password -which it accepts and authorizes for this computer and tells me endlessly I've used 1 of 9 authorizations.

      It's confusing.

      *****

Also, look at the attached files for License screenshots I did with PlayerFab without & with connecting via NordVpn that I did just now.

If I connect without NordVpn all licenses except the player are expired, with NordVpn they were "extended" to another date.

It appears that trial "Try" versions time limits were reset somehow when I connected over VPN?

Forgot to attach this file for authorizations, which always said 1 of 9 authorizations on this computer.

The free version can playback the 4K/HEVC videos files.

To use the Free version, please use the "Try" button.

You receive this message because you have other valid DVDFab products and you have authorized that product on the same computer.

For the authorization, as long as you have a valid account at DVDFab Member Center, even if it doesn't contain a license for the target product, it can go through, however, won't actually activate the product. Sorry for the confusion.

About the VPN part, it should not affect the trial, normally it's based on a computer. Anyway, I will pass your post to the developer.
