1080 for HBO Max via Amazon addon (back again!) now...

    Fyi,

Just noticed that when I logged in on Amazon Prime, HBO Max is back as an addon channel.

Downloading videos via HBO Max directly, Amazon Prime HBO/Max addon (7 day free trial), and The Competitor.

Seems like *most* content is available for HBO Max via Amazon Prime/HBO Max addon.

I did notice that new HBO Max "A Christmas Story" doesn't seem to be available via Amazon Prime/HBO Max Addon.

I have a $9 Trial of HBO Max for 3 months direct & may go back to HBO Max via Amazon Prime after testing for next few days and comparing HBO Max direct thru HBO Max vs Amazon Addon.

A Christmas Story Christmas via Amazon Prime/HBO Max addon - StreamFab (1920x960, 8,266 kb/s H265, 6 channel Dolby Digital Plus) (see attached 1)

A Christmas Story Christmas HBO Max - StreamFab (Only 720p)

    ... A Nice Christmas Present!

Was very happy to hear that but looks like some of the stuff they have has no subtitles. Really annoying as i was able to get the 1st 3 episodes of House of Dragons from HBO Max with English and Romanian subtitles in 1080p before they changed the DRM and now i have to download in 1080p from Amazon, then from HBO Max in super low resolution to get the subs...

Are your downloads in EAC3? Because that would be a huge improvement over HBOMax's cuurent setting.

Sigh... So annoying that Streamfab will download stuff and dock you a credit when it should have been a fail. So many times i have downloaded full seasons only to find out 1 episode is zero bytes or only downloaded the audio but docked me a download. Then i try again and it works. Talk about non-existant Error Handling.

Even with full movies you think all is good and turns out you only have 30 minutes of the movie. I am doing a lot of things in batch to replace my 350+ TB collection from H264 to H265 and i cannot verify every single episode and movie...

I just posted a new thread about a pretty significant bug and it's unapproved... wtf?

It actually affects you too Mike_M as you posted about it in 2 different bug reports. The file size stuff. Long story short, if there are 3 1080p resolutions available like for example:

            1080p (3.0 GB)
            1080p (2.0 GB)
            1080p (1.0 GB)

And you want to get the 2.0 GB one, you need to pick the 1.0 GB one and it will download the 2.0 GB.

So always pick the one directly under the one you really want. Even if the one under is a 720p, it will download the 1080p directly above

Yeah, I've been bit by this bug also. Only in my case SF will produce a video file that's only 20s long. AND it's reproducible. Maybe I'll now file a bug report with Mona.

Just as a FYI adding HBO Max on Amazon will give access to HBO Max on the HBO Max site.

Wouldn't you know, right before the DRM change. I have no more downloads left today, otherwise I'd be sorely tempted to get what I can't get from HBOMax SF in 1080p and replace the competition's downloads as I have no idea what that change will bring, but I just know a 7-day trial I start after midnight on Dec 7th is probably going to be wasted, dammit.

I had that reservation in my mind as well. So far, I've been downloading just fine for the last couple of days with HBO content. It comes out as it should from grabbing it both on the HBO downloader and through Amazon. I think I've grabbed just under 100 downloads successfully since the 5th and it's still working good as of writing this.

Same here - while there's some new content failures now, when it looked like things were OK on Prime on the 7th, I went for it. I've grabbed about 200 downloads so far, as I'm replacing all my TV series content from HBOMax, and Prime's episodes are larger files, with superior EAC3 audio - and the larger thumbnail that comes with Prime series episodes. THAT is a great SF feature the competition doesn't have.

Thanks Mike_M for the heads up on this Prime Channel add-on!
