[6.1.0.1] Amazon download fails to mux as MP4, succeeds as MKV (FFMpeg)

I was unable to download a good copy of The Nutcracker (2009) from Amazon with my download format set to MP4. The movie length is 1:47:48, but the downloaded file showed an overall length of 7:34, and the length of the individual streams was only 0:46. StreamFab seemed to download the entire 6 GB of H265 data, but the final muxed file was only 37 MB. I opened the temporary folder where StreamFab puts the downloaded file bits before assembling them into streams and watched it download the entire video stream. I was able to copy the assembled video stream temporary file before it was deleted by StreamFab and found it was complete, 1:47:48 in duration, and playable (without sound). Eventually I was able to get a complete audio stream by changing my download file format to MKV (FFMpeg). The problem was in StreamFab's MP4 muxer.

While what I am about to say doesn't directly address your problem..... I'm confident that it's relevant to the subject.....

I suggest you do an internet search using..... "the pros and cons of MKV vs MP4".....

You'll get a number of good sites which will offer you an objective view regarding both the advantages and disadvantages of each..... with most including a section on how to make the decision based on your personal requirements and priorities.....

I know why I choose a certain format..... however..... you need to make that decision on your own..... and you'll probably learn something in the process.....

    Good luck.

The purpose of my post is to notify StreamFab of a minor problem with their software. I understand the differences between the MP4 and MKV container formats and do not need to do an internet search on the subject. Your post is unhelpful and off topic.

I downloaded Revenge of the Pink Panther and all seemed fine. Used Bluray Creator to burn a disc and the original 2.35 image (which plays fine as an MP4 file) switched to squeezed 16:9 on the disc. None of the other Pink Panther films has done this. Went to download it again but now Streamfab will only download it in 480p. 1080 is unavailable

So I've yet again had to waste money paying for the competition as Streamfab fails. Further to the 16:9 issue mentioned above I fully expected it to be a problem with Bluray Creator - however I've downloaded Revenge of the Pink Panther using the competing downloader and using Bluray Creator that downloaded file displays correctly on disc. This is all very odd as no other movies have ever shown this problem yet the downloaded file plays correctly on any playback program. But clearly Streamfab has some wrong information that the alternate program does not.
