Yeah I found out finally you have to do it this way too. But this is just for netflix...
It is pretty painful how it is arranged. And worse is how it varies depending on the plugin. Like on Streamfab Amazon it might show up blank if it isn't there in the selected codec so you have to change to h264 manually. Or like with Streamfab youtube you have to choose manually VP9 to see 4k. But default it is h264 and 1080
It is just so inconsistent and confusing, like different people designed each one.
Oh i am 100% convinced individual modules are written by different people. It's been painfully obvious many many times...
I really appreciate the changes that were made to the Amazon module but why is it taking so long to port to the other modules? Probably because they coded it directly to the APV module instead of the StreamFab platform itself...
Since it is radio silence from the powers that be, i will continue to point out why being able to pick the season or episode to scan is the only way to address the problems of the current way.
I am not sure if they just want to stick to their guns and not want to make it seem the competitor had it right all along but, if it is, that is very bad business.
Obviously, releasing a new money making module, Fanza TV+, is more important to them than the silly stuff on Amazon that you want them to work on.
Lol you should have seen my face when i read the release notes for 6.1.2.6...
Yeah, that makes the second weekly update that I don't have to worry about installing.
6.1.2.5 2023-06-03
New: Added support to download certain Disney+ videos in 1080p and H265.
New: Added support to download Amazon Prime Video subtitles in the original format.
Fix: A problem that the downloaded Discovery+ videos contain no subtitles.
I don't do Disney and I have no need for subtitles. I speak English and that makes up 87% of all the videos out there (except Netflix where it seems like it is starting to be about 50/50 English/other languages anymore). 87% is more than enough to keep me busy without having to watch foreign shows. I'm not being xenophobic, I just have a hard time reading the script and watching the acting at the same time.
StreamFab 6.1.2.6 Changelog
New: Added support to download videos from FANZA TV Plus.
Fix: A failure problem when downloading videos from FANZA.
Fix: A crash problem in certain cases.
I have no need for porn and if I did, because of my All-In-One, I already have 12 VIP porno sites available to me already. That's not even counting the unknown number of smut sites that are available to me via M3U8 and MPD DRM. If all those can't get your rocks off then another one ain't going to help.
And finally I haven't seen any crashes and since they don't name the "certain cases" I can't even check to see if I'm susceptible to it.
Here's another of my two weeks warnings - Another 3 day Chinese holiday is coming up on June 22. It's time to race the Dragon Boats. Prepare for a lack of support and an even more reduced update for that week.
Most people know about the thumbnails but not many people know abut the "Properties" which enables extended properties/metadata in Windows.
These properties can be accessed by programs like Bulk Rename Utility but i use them in plain old Windows Explorer. These properties only work if i enable them in Icaros for .mp4 and .mkv files. I use them in my "Details" view in Windows Explorer
jpp72 That "Mockup of Proposed Improvements" in post 13 in every module is basically everything i could ever want in the software..!
I really hope they implement this idea because it's the one that makes the most sense and it will fix so many issues we have regarding resolution, audio, subtitles and bitrates.
If they don't go that route with whatever minor tweaks they think improve on this, it will show they dgaf about very valid solutions/feedback.
The "report" that some other stuff is available sounds good in theory if it happens BEFORE stuff is downloaded. I see zero value in telling me after the fact. I need all the information so i can decide if i will download it or not. Being able to analyze individual episodes makes that possible.
