SF 6.1.3.1 Hulu What we do in the Shadows

Anyone else having issues getting S05E03 to download (stuck on Analyzing) of What We do in the Shadows on Hulu? I'll upload a log later if I'm the only one. Thanks!

I'm having issues with anything from Hulu again, everything is stuck on Analyzing Video and never stops.

Future episode. You need to actually read the Hulu show page. Don't go by the StreamFab pop-up.

Yup, same here. I could at least generate a menu and DL with 1080p on 7/2 with v. 6.1.1.3.. I didn't realize until today that I could get anything above 720p. so I wanted to try to redo some earlier downloads - pfft, no luck. Then I saw from our resident genius's Cats4U post that maybe there was a DRM change a few days ago, so if that's the case then I totally missed that boat.

Is anyone still able to download anything using earlier an version?

Number one, you need to change your attitude. 'Nuff said. Number two, I absolutely never said that any DRM change had occurred at Hulu (or any other major streamers for that matter) in the past few days. The problem that I wrote about in this message thread has existed for as long as I can remember. Hulu posts episodes in advance of their actual initial streaming date. StreamFab's selection pop-up is fooled by this and makes it appear that it is available for download when it isn't. As I posted in screenshot, the episode in question, What We Do in the Shadows S05E03 will not stream until July 21. The next one, S05E04, will not stream until July 28.
If traiklin and you are having problems with Hulu other than the original one listed in this thread about What We Do in the Shadows S05E03, I suggest you start your own new thread rather than hijacking this one. The StreamFab Staff will be asking you to identify specific Hulu videos that you are having problems with and to provide an attached StreamFab.log so it would best to include them in your initial post.

I'm not sure what's happening here, but I'm confused as I have no idea what "attitude" you're referring to. I certainly have none towards you, other than gratitude for your knowledge, and for the times you've helped me and others on this forum in the past - if I somehow came off as sarcastic or critical, that's absolutely the last thing I intended. I was simply referring to your earlier post mentioning a possible Hulu DRM change and wanted to credit where I saw it. If I misread and then misrepresented what you wrote, then I do apologize - to my mind, I thought it explained why I could get 1080p downloads earlier this month and now can't DL anything, let alone 720p - it was never meant as an accusation or anything unfavorable.

I'll leave it to others to start a new thread if they also can't get past analysis - if my comments came off as hijacking, I apologize to everyone.

Takes a big man to apologize. Good on you.

I was the one floating the idea of a Hulu DRM change and i simply refreered to the fact that Cats4U mentioned that this is the time of year they have used in the past.

I said i was too quick on the draw with my conclusions but there definitely is something going on with Hulu as there are a few new additions that i can't get in H265 or others with no 1080p. Interestingly enough, What We Do in The Shadows Season 5 is something i cannot get in H265 right now

I hope they see it, as I think they blocked me. I think I missed your floating the idea, and therefore misread the whole thing. I'm kind of gobsmacked here by the miscommunication, and really upset that anyone would think I'm snarking on/attacking them - I don't want anyone to feel that's the case. Tone is woefully missing on this sort of site, dammit.

I dunno if it's Hulu or this version of SF that's being weird - I tried @october262's suggestion of logging out/logging in again, but it wouldn't let me. And then after several attempts I closed & reopened the window and was able to DL (in 1080p!) from one of the suggested selections, and got it to work, but I haven't tried a write-in selection. Then I got a notice that SF had to close due to an error, and now all I get when I open it up is a blank page that won't close - unless I do it from the task menu, so wtf, I have no idea what's up with this thing.

                        I wrote -
Maybe if StreamFab had an adequate number of quality developers to cover all the various free and small time streamers from all around the world then StreamFab might be worth the exorbitant amount of money they charge but that is not the case. Just look at the cries for fixes in just the last week alone. In a good number of cases I had to lookup (in the DRM MPD advertisement) whether the streamer was even supported by SF because I had never heard of them before. They would need hundreds of developers to cover all the streamers they now claim they support.
If history is any guide we are due soon for DRM changes at one or more of "the major international modules". Will StreamFab get their priorities right at that point or will the unknown streamers win out? Whatever happens, the fact is that they will get further and further behind and the customer will suffer.

As predicted by Nostradamus aka Cats4U, the DRM for Hulu has probably been updated. New seasons of old shows and new shows have a max resolution of 720p and some don't even detect the Audio.
I apologize. The phrase "resident genius" or something to that effect was used sarcastically in the past by some user here that was opposed to me helping them or others. I put up my defenses as soon as I saw it. I absolutely should have checked to see if it was you and whether you were going at me again before I wrote anything. I am truly sorry.
By the way, I'm not a genius. Far from it. I've read every post that has been posted here since I've been here. One quality that I do have is that I remember reading things from the past. Drives my wife crazy. I don't always remember the full content but with a website search or the help of Google I become a pseudo-genius. It's not me, it's the software.

You might want to try a clean install of StreamFab. At the risk of being called something sarcastic again I'm going to post how to do that. If I remember correctly, posting this was the spark that set off my being attacked. They didn't like that I made up a text file of the instructions rather than write them up new everytime someone had a problem that might call for it.

How to do a clean install of the latest StreamFab

                          1. Totally delete the contents of your StreamFab Log & Temp directories

                          2. Use a "professional" uninstall program to completely remove old version of StreamFab
Make sure the uninstaller removes Registry entries for StreamFab as well as the program
Do not use the built-in Windows uninstaller as it tends to leave stuff behind
A good source for currently available free uninstallers is at
Be sure to choose to remove StreamFab's current configuration when asked

                          3. Download the latest offline version of StreamFab
                          32bit version:
                          64bit version:
Never use the online pop-up installer as it sometimes produces bad installs

                          4. Install the new version of StreamFab
If the uninstall program you used has a Install component to it, use that to install StreamFab
Using the Install component will keep a complete log of everything added and make a future uninstall easier next time
A pop-up will appear when you first start StreamFab asking you to re-authorize your StreamFab, do it
Run Settings and set up your StreamFab configuration
After setting up your configuration and saving, it is best to close StreamFab and then restart it
Do a clean install everytime a new StreamFab version comes out and you will have less problems

Please, no need to apologize - we're good. Especially given that previous snarky incident with another user - I'd also have put that spin on it! Miscommunications happen, and I for one am glad you're here, as your comments are always incisive, helpful and insightful - and also pretty damn funny.

I think trying a rip-it-out-by-the-roots clean install is a good idea as this version is making me crazy - thanks for the how-to guide! Seriously, who could possibly object to this? Weird.

My backup laptop should be repaired tomorrow and will prolly have a new install of Windows 10, so just for giggles I'm gonna install the older v.6.1.1.3. and see if it will still default to the best audio available for Hulu as it did earlier this month - I only upgraded to this latest version when it wouldn't download anything on Amazon. That way just maybe I could get consistent EAC3 audio along with 1080p in a series instead of (maybe) just the first episode.

The SF rep I chatted with last night says they're aware of the glitch of the software ignoring available EAC3 in favor of AAC and they're "working on it" - uh, through how many updates is it now? But hey, keep bumping that priority in favor for supporting a streamer with 20 viewers first...
