    Youtube Downloader INACCURATE download window

Delighted to see VP9 support, but as far as available options for any video on Youtube, they are seldom accurate. If I select 4K, I get 2K/1080p, if I select 8K, I might get 4K.
Can we get an accurate analysis of the video, resolution and file size up front before having to experiment by downloading something multiple times? Maybe a different download window that we select what we want? And can we also add the QHD stream, since it is there anyway?

I will return with an example when I do more youtube exploring.

Not exactly the same issue, but is there a way to save videos correctly with /50 designators? When I view this URL with another program, there are 50 download options. However, every program I have tried including streamfab saves it where the length of the video does not match the audio, off by 20 seconds or so.
      YouTube でお気に入りの動画や音楽を楽しみ、オリジナルのコンテンツをアップロードして友だちや家族、世界中の人たちと共有しましょう。

Not sure what you mean by /50 but if you mean 50fps, all 3 programs download it with the 50fps.

The title is misleading because it's easy to see this is not a remaster. It's an upscale and a really bad one at that.

The source material is 360p/25fps and both audio and video are 3mins and 52 seconds.

The upscale has 3mins 29 seconds of video and 3mins 46 seconds of audio

All 3 programs download exactly what is available and mux the tracks properly. The source material is the culprit

It's about phantom resolution/sizes. For the Sandstorm video, you have several selections that don't actually exist. That file size is nowhere and it's very easy to see that it's just being duplicated for every single resolution. In yt-dlp, you can see all the proper resolutions and file sizes.

              Thanks again!

Yes, a lot of phantom hits in there with Streamfab, and I think I see that issue literally for every video I try. It is so random on what we are shown and what actually downloads that it is ridiculous, unless I want a straight 1080p (which even the straight part doesn't exist), I have to seek other programs. I will download one that seems to be 100Mb or so, then end up with one that is 35 Mb and terrible quality.

yt-dlp is probably a very powerful program, but even figuring out how to get it to even list the streams is insane. I just tried youtube downloader p, which is a suitable gui. Tartube did not even remotely give all the options.

This video specifically, what sat on my hard drive previously was a heavily censored version. Anytime a gun was shown, it was blocked out completely. I will experiment with Audacity to see if I can squeeze the audio and make it line up correctly.

I think I remember where some of my previous high quality videos came from, the program Power2Go used to be a good downloader. It no longer works so I have moved on.

Straight yt-dlp, like JPP72 uses, is probably the best non-DRM downloader around. I'm still a novice at it but I'm learning slowly. I hope to someday be a proficient in it as Jack. My go-to right now is Tubedigger. It is highly acclaimed and it deserves all of it. Next in line would be IDM, Internet Download Manager. Great program when it works. The program often takes the moral high road and will not download a file if it thinks that it might be infringing on the file owner's rights even if the file non-DRM. I keep hoping that I'll find an article somewhere telling that the IDM's author really doesn't care about that and just does it to cover his butt and that there is a secret code or something to get around that. So far, no such luck.

Posts like this might get deleted by admin as it potentially competes with their program.
Tubedigger does youtube? Wouldn't know that by the main page of the product. I see they do offer a free trial, might check it out.
Like I say, "Youtube Downloader P" aka yt-dlp-gui does exactly what I seem to want. Paste a URL, it analyzes every possibility for video and audio, select what you want, download, done. If Streamfab implements that and keeps it updated, more happy customers,
use the third party installer that uses power shell. Might need to do on a fresh reboot.

It's their website, they can do whatever they want. I would question why they would do so now when I've referred to both Tubedigger and IDM many times in the past here.

Hmm, now why would I think TUBEdigger might do youTUBE? Gee, I don't know.

I've never heard of "Youtube Downloader P" nor can I find any listing to it anywhere. Not listed at VideoHelp - https://www.videohelp.com/software/s...ng-downloaders
It is certainly not aka yt-dlp-gui because I have yt-dlp-gui and I use that and Jack's scripts as learning tools when I get in the mood to play around with yt-dlp. Nowhere in the yt-dlp-gui program or on their GitHub site does it ever use the name "Youtube Downloader P". https://github.com/kannagi0303/yt-dlp-gui
By the way, there are 109 "video downloader" on the VideoHelp site that's listed above (which StreamFab happens to advertise on) and I've tried about half of them over the years. I would think it probably means something to say that Tubedigger is my go-to for no-DRM files.

Why would they want to do that? They already use yt-dlp directly in slightly modified form adding StreamFab specific features (like cache location and etc.) in a file called YoutubeToMP3Process.exe.

Really? How can you tell? Media-downloader isn't anywhere close to "Youtube Downloader P". Where'd he get that name?
There are actually two "media downloader" programs, media-downloader and MediaDownloader. I've tried both in the past. Of the two, the media-downloader is the much better. But it still wasn't good enough for me to keep it. I don't remember what I didn't like about it.
If there was one pure yt-dlp frontend GUI that I liked it was a program called FireDM (previously called PyIDM). It was getting better and better with each update and then it just sort of disappeared one day. There is still a working version around dated Feb. 2022 but it's not as good as it was going to be.

Tubedigger's site makes no mention of Youtube, but it says it downloads from mostly any site. Tube could just as easily make an old skool reference to a TV being called the boob toob.

It is the Kannagi link. When you load the program, that's what it identifies as. There are no "About" functions, the saved file and the program itself all identify the way I mention it. The link you provide, the screen shot in the link you provide even says yt-dlp-gui.

Follow the link near the bottom though: Third Party InstallerThe attached image is a cutout of my Start Menu.

Don't be a jerk, ok? Bad enough that you are lately trying to copycat everything jpp72 writes without the knowledge and experience that he has. It's really pathetic to watch.

I downloaded the official .exe installer from https://www.videohelp.com/software/yt-dlp-gui. Why use a third party shell installer when the official Windows .exe one is available?
