Prime Bitrate Selector function still broken 6136

Just had it happen. I tried downloading season 13 episode 8 of CSI. The automatic process where I click on the season, it wanted to download a 1.01Gb file. That seemed way too small. This is because it defaults to looking at episode 1 when you click on a season unless you happen to have a different episode completed. To get episode 8, I deselect episode 1 and select episode 8 and that is what downloads.

I canceled the download and went to Prime Video in a browser and copy pasted the link to episode 8 instead, and it offered and downloaded a 1.81Gb file.

Just another argument for analyzing individual episodes. I have not tried this on 6135 or 6134 so I do not know if this is as a result of the newest tweak that tries to match the bit rate. The top bitrate must be very different for episode 1 and episode 8.

If I am understanding you right, NO, don't do it. Your definition of best video quality may not be ours. That's exactly the point we've been trying to get across to you. Give us all the options and we will choose. We don't need StreamFab to make our decisions for us because a good percentage of the time, they are wrong and not what we want.

If it is a toggle "option", it will help in my case. You have an episode to test in this thread. Right now I have to copy paste every episode link now because I cannot trust the program, it is probably trying to match every episode as close to episode 1 as possible.

In another related, is S13E1 supposed to only be 1.32Gb? Is there a stream that is not being decoded? Almost all other episodes are higher. Hulu, which has an overall lower bitrate on every episode, and only 2.0 audio produces a larger file in this case.

I would be very happy just getting the quality video option especially if it is HEVC, and only because the file is smaller and there is almost no quality loss.
