StreamFab v6.1.3.9: Netflix Original Audio Setting Not Quite There Yet

Thank you for implementing this but it's not quite what we want. There is 1 bug and 1 tweak needed:

Bug: Both 5.1 and 2.0 Original Audio tracks are selected even though the Pre-Select Both 5.1 & 2.0 Audio is unchecked. It should only select the audio that we have setup in the Audio Channels Settings.

Tweak: The setting should be separate from the other audio selection settings. Right now, if we check the Netflix Original Audio and the English one, both are selected in Netflix. If we uncheck the English one, then on Amazon it selects the 1st language in the dropdown. For multi-audio, it's never English in the 1st position.

So we need a setting for Netflix Audio language and a different one for the other providers.

    Example on Netflix: Undercover

Example on Prime Video: Jack Ryan

So, once again, the behavior we want is to be able to pre-select a static language for all providers except Netflix. For example, English.

For Netflix, we want to be able to select ONLY the Original Audio. Some people may want the Original Audio AND a Dubbed Audio so basically the best way to do that is have a Netflix only Audio language setting that includes all languages and the Original Audio and a different generic audio setting with all languages for the other modules.

I hear you jpp72, and after all the help you give them here, I would think they would make this a priority for you. But I guess not, Let me ask you a question please, Did you also get hit with a giant advertisement here, when the program first opened? I posted what I saw. For gosh sake, if already own it, whey are they peppering me with ads?

I mean at least they tried to implement it. The thing that gets me is that the devs don't seem to be users of the product they code. I feel if you were truly a user, you would get all the nuances of why some features are requested and exactly how they should be implemented.

But i can't really be mad at the feature being implemented the wrong way when the competitor will just tell you that you are stupid for asking for that feature.

As for the ads, i didn't get the pop-up but i did get the email. I don't know if the fact that i have several version installed on the same computer has anything to do with it.

It could also be the amount of modules you don't have? These are the only modules i don't have:

None of these are interesting to me except the OnlyFans one since it turns out they did implement DRM but i am not gonna pay $89 for that. I found an OnlyFans downloader on Github that can downloaded DRM'd stuff so until they implement something for a major North American provider like Philo or Vudu, the $89 i paid for DRM MPD and DMR M3U is the last money they will see from me.

Did they really tell you that,m I would think they would be very appreciative to have a member like you. Wow, I read their forum for hours and I didn't come across anything like that. Calling someone stupid, should be pointed out. Was it a staff member?

Nobody called ME stupid but i did have to create a new account on there because of the toxicity. I used my "pirate" persona on there and got into it with some users when i pointed out some ridiculous stuff going on. It wasn't staff but the ganging up on users is pretty prevalent there. Just look at the thread about adding the year as a variable for the filename output. Such a big deal for something that is literally 3 lines of code. They obviously already parse the metadata. No matter if it's a JSON payload or a regular array object, storing the year is just instantiating the variable and storing the year in that variable.

I am not telling you anything you don't know in terms of coding so you know it is child's play to add that when they already have variables for title, season, episode, etc...

But looking at that thread and people telling him to use Filebot, which isn't even the best, is just ridiculous. The whole point is that having the year gives the scraper better accuracy. If you don't have the year, filebot will suffer the same accuracy problem when the title is ambiguous.

Anyway, all that to say that i am glad StreamFab is 1000x more receptive to Feature Requests than the other guys. They might be slow but they won't tell you an outright no or that it is the scraper's fault if it returns the wrong result as the 1st in the list

Oh, I thought you were talking about the staff, The guy who runs or owns it, is a pretty decent guy, at least what I have seen, he helped me a few times and even offered me a discount when they didn't have one going. Yeah, sometimes members get feisty, it's a part of every forum I guess. As for Filebot or the year, I have never even looked to see if a year was on the file. I guess if this is a hobby maybe you want all of that, I just want to watch stuff I never watched before, and to be honest, I don't really watch anything twice, I teach and take courses, so my time is limited, plus we only have one TV in our housing unit, so I watch stuff on my laptop in my room. I actually find the competitor's forum to be a good place, there are way more people and staff to help you if you have an issue. If it wasn't for you and Cats4U this forum would be useless. But either way, I do like to use what I spend more money on, and I really spend more here than I did there. I was dopey, I bought modules one at a time here. Hey, you are very helpful and I appreciate you being here, you are a gentleman.

Your message is received, and the developers will reconsider this part.
