StreamFab for Windows Uploaded logs, and their content, are now visible all users?

I noticed something from other threads where people were posting their logs. In the past, the log attachments could only be downloaded/opened/viewed, but now they can be downloaded and viewed by me, so maybe all??

I wouldn't think much of it, except for the paths being listed in plain sight... like log path: C:/Users/xxxxx/Documents/DVDFab/StreamFab/Log/ or LiveUpdateHelper2: run "C:/Program Files/DVDFab/StreamFab/StreamUpdate.exe" ("--config_file", "C:/Users/xxxxx/Documents/DVDFab/StreamFab/Temp/update/update_config.xml", "--url_suffix=clientusertype=paid", "--user_type", "paid")

(where xxxx is the user's log in name).

    Any reason for the change?

It looks like you've been promoted to "Trusted Member". Being able to read the logs is one (and perhaps the only) benefit to being at that level. As far as I know, there are only a handful of members that have received this privilege, all who have shown the staff their continued willingness to help other members with their issues. If you feel uncomfortable with this privilege, I'm sure they will take it back if you so request it.

I really don't understand the paranoia concerning usernames and the logs in general. There is nothing you can do with it if you see the username. In fact, my paths only list the first 5 characters of my username which is much longer than that.

Someone could use their real name as their windows user name. I guess as long as they don't, it's ok.

That being said windows install and setup on my Surface Pro took my first name and initial of last name as my user id. So I'm not fond of that being out there.

Isn't it reassuring to know that there are probably a few thousand or more people out there with the same first name and initial of last name unless you have a real unique first name. A real simple solution to the problem would be to change the paths for your Log, Temp, and Output directories in StreamFab Settings away from using the default "C:/Users/xxxxx/Documents/(etc.)". And if you are really not happy with your Microsoft User Name you can always change it. This Microsoft article explains how to do it for Windows 10 and I would imagine Windows 11 as well.

If you're using Windows 10, you may want to change your user name for various reasons. Maybe your name has changed, or you want to personalize your account....
