Why did they say ITVX was fixed in the banner :-(

Speaking as a User rather than a Moderator, I've seen this many, many times over the years, and it totally pisses me off each time. If they try to fix something, they MAY test it out on one episode or movie and if it passes, it is fixed in their mind. They do not do adequate testing, and it often results in creating more problems than was originally the case. Anyone that has been around here for a while will tell you the same thing. Plus, they added in re-encoding into 6.1.6.2, which is what you appear to be running. Everyone hated the re-encoding the first time they used it because it caused more problems. It is doing the same this time.
Back to me being a Moderator... I was the one that put up the banner. I had to put up something because the previous status report didn't make any sense any longer. Jack and I weren't informed about 6.1.6.2 before time. We were not told that it was coming and what was in it. We both thought they would not release an update while they were busy working on the DRM issue. We were completely surprised and wished they had not released the update. With the only information for me to work with being the Changelog, I slapped up the banner as is. Now, what do I do? Do I remove the banner because as a user I feel it borders on being untruthful, or do I go along with what little has been presented to me by StreamFab and make it available to all the forum members? If I worked for the company, the answer would be easy. But Jack and I are unpaid volunteers, and that creates a conundrum.

Thanks Cats, you do a great job moderating and trying to assist people ;-)

Will the new Version fixed generally the DRM Problems with all Modules, or just for ITVX ?

If JustWatch is right, then "Botched s02e06" was released today
and Trigger Point s02 could only be dl re-encoded at the beginning of the month.

With SF 6.1.6.6 both works fine (without re-encoding):

This is a communication problem. Jack and I can only go on what is told to us. Here are the only three bits of information that we have to work with...

Is "Improved the support for downloading videos" the same as fixed? Your guess is as good as mine. And then on 2024-02-18 came this private message in reply to my asking for a status report.

This one clearly uses the word "fixed" and refers to the (future, at that time) release of 6.1.6.6. So, in the eyes and mind of Management, everything is fixed in 6.1.6.6 but Amazon and Netflix. But when the changelog for 6.1.6.6 comes out, only a limited number of streamers are mentioned in regard to DRM. WTF!

So we have a Hobson's choice. No matter what we put, the answer is wrong because we have no choice. Jack chose to use the second bit of information, and I agree with him totally. The third bit of information doesn't take away from what was written to us in the second bit.

Tell you what, for my own curiosity, list one or two episodes that you say aren't fixed. Take them from the basic subscription; I don't have ITVX Premium (or whatever it is called). Try to download the one or two episodes using 6.1.6.6, and attach the resulting full complete StreamFab.log to the message along with the list of the episodes.

Thanks, Germania, but I'd like to hear from Whitesnake. That doesn't mean that I don't trust your results impeccably. He is the OP and has said throughout this thread that ITVX isn't working with the various SF versions. I'd like to see the results for 6.1.6.6 from his point of view. I rarely use ITVX, and I'd have to use a VPN to get there. I'm not sure if I'd really trust the results I would get, but I'll give it a try once I know where his problem lies.
