Canal+ download problem

    Every download from Canal+ (or MyCanal) fail during the analyze part.

    I tried with 6.1.9.9 and 6.2.0.0 from two different place and PC. Same problem. It was working one or two weeks ago.

    Attached StreamFab log file.

    Hope you we be able to fix it.

    Looks like the audio is the problem - more i can't say, because:
    a) I've no access to the site - so i can't test myself
    b) your StreamFab.log is incomplete

    I can access whithout trouble any episode in Canal+ using a web browser on the same PC. I can play any language whithout trouble. Remember, it worked 15 days ago with 6.1.9.6 to 6.1.9.9 whithout trouble.

    I tried to download one with selecting only french and after english whithout subtitle : same error. Attached the complete log files.

    I think Canal+ change something DVDFab need to find.

    Since your 2nd log is also incomplete, I didn't look any further.

    Since I can't test it, it could also be possible
    that it still works with older SF versions - try if you can

    If this is the case, the users in the forum will not be able to help you either.
    Then it would be advisable to use the Feedback function in SF to inform the dev.
    I assume that dev will be working again from Tuesday (after "National day holidays")

    I didn't have any other log files in my Stremfab log directories...



    I tried with old movies I was able to download before with same result/problem. So I will wait for an idea/fix from DVDFab. Thank you for your help.

    If you have AppleTV+ Downloader you can dl "Slow Horses" from AppleTV (trial)
    but i think it's only SD for season 4

    I am currently toying with the idea of Canal+ with a 50% discount in Slovakia ..
    .. there is also appletv+ available, but I don't know which audio is there offered

    Following the promise, StreamFab would support Canal+, I ordered an abo for my country (canalplus.at).
    No matter how - if I start with the Canal+-Icon on the homescreen, change the region within the canal+-page, login + select video or play the requestet video in my browser and copy the link to StreamFab - it always ends in an error-code (I should contact support). I did so - this was the first time in June 2024.

    Since then I tried it in every version and attached all files and screenshots to the trouble ticket. All I received was the information, that it will be given to the developers and equal boilerplates.

    I know, I used canalplus.at (the only Canal+ I ever had access to
    when there was a 30 day trial offer in 2023) and can confirm that
    this site has never worked with SF since my SF subscription (Aug 23)

    But I used it because (mostly) German audio was available
    and could download and decrypt manually from there.

    If you open streamfab.com - Products - Europe (or here)
    you can see that "Canal Plus Downloader" is only listed for France

    With the same problem, I made a ticket on the members' site.

    Here is the answer from the technical service:
    "We have recorded the problem you encountered and will solve the problem as soon as possible based on this information. Please wait patiently for the release of new versions in the future.     I have the same problem since September 24 with version 6.1.9.9. Test with 6.1.9.8 and still the same. Same with the latest version 6.2.0.0. Recovering a 720P video is impossible. Super long analysis then failed. Only 540P format works correctly. I am attaching today's log. Two episodes (Halo 2x01 and Alert 2x05) in 720P Failed and 540P Succes.

    I can confirm Laurencea post, every download in 540P work (except for audio of some movies in 2.0 instead of 5.1).

    Any new of a fix so we will be able to download in 720p again ?

    I just download 6.2.0.2 version and test it :

    - No more error when analysing the serie/movie.
    - I can select 720p format
    - download works but.....

    The result is always 540p instead of selected 720p. I tried different movie/serie already downloaded in 720p before whithout problem.

    I tried to uninstall 6.2.0.2 version and clear the parameters and reinstall after a reboot, same problem.

    Using a Web browser, I can play in 1080p/720p format. I do not know where is the problem. It was just working 2 months ago.

    Maybe Canal+ added some secured options...

    Your Browser was also automatically updated to WidevineCDM 2830 (DRM) ..
    .. but SF couldn't crack it yet, so it won't get a required key to decrypt > SD
    (that's why SF couldn't dl new releases > 540p from Netflix)

    I wouldn't get the necessary key for decryption >540p manually either ..

    I lost also 1080p download from Netflix, only 540p now. At this time only Amazon works for me in 1080p.

    Yep that's forced by the DRM Update ..

    Still in 540p with 6.2.0.3 version, same result as previous version even beta one.

    Do you think DVDFab team will be able to fix this problem quickly ?

    Beta or recent version, same result.
    I had never managed to exceed 720p, which is already not bad.
    On the beta or current version, it is mainly recent videos that are limited to 540p, so this joins this hypothesis of encrypted videos on different DRM versions.



    When this will be resolved, no one knows, because DVDFAB calls on external people to provide solutions through Reverse Engineering.
    We experienced this several months ago without a response, I can assure you that relaunch on the forum will not speed things up, they are working on it, it is a lot of research, so we just have to wait !
