Interesting. So even though the direct Apple+ resolution is often lower than Apple+ via Amazon, you think the picture quality is better due to DV ?

directly through apple tv+ have higher bitrate than amazon
apple tv+ 4k hdr is usually 24M
apple tv+ amazon channel 4k hdr is usually 15M (more or less)

DV is just my personal preference. When viewing a video I can't tell the difference between resolutions provided for Apple directly versus Apple through Amazon, but I can tell the difference in color vibrancy. I pay attention to the numbers, but let my eyes be the final arbiter.

Some content directly from Apple+ is a higher resolution including 4K but I find much of it coming in lower, like 862x466 etc.. Are others seeing much of the content at a lower resolution when going direct ?

Depends on your titles - if you take old, popular files
you will have better luck than with current releases

(480p for all of videos, part of videos up to 720p/1080p/4K)
