I'm not sure exactly when this happened but it seems like episodes downloaded lately are being shown without a language label on the audio track. Just a 'Track 1' instead of the previous Japanese'. 'Has anyone else noticed that or know if a fix is being worked on?

Have you reported the problem to support?
There is no language info (for audio - only for sub) in analyzed manifest.mpd:

btw: Every language selected in player result in other mpd url - but no language info for audio in mpd
